    • Clubs fifth homer
Nevin went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 5-1 loss to the Angels.

Advice: Nevin provided the Athletics' lone run with his solo shot off Griffin Canning in the second inning. Over six games since he rejoined Oakland's 26-man roster, he's gone 3-for-18 (.167) with two RBI. The infielder is slashing .213/.300/.348 with five homers, 12 RBI, 13 runs scored, four doubles and one stolen base over 160 plate appearances. While Nevin's hitting is nothing special, he'll have a chance to claim a regular spot in the lineup while Abraham Toro (hamstring) is sidelined for at least a month. Rotowire.com 14 minutes ago

    • Homers in Monday's win
Ward went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Monday's 5-1 win over the Athletics.

Advice: Ward gave the Angels all the offense they needed with his first-inning blast. This was his 13th homer of the season, but it's just his second over the last 24 contests. The outfielder may be coming back around at the plate, as he's hit safely in four straight games, but he's at a .241/.326/.431 slash line with 40 RBI, 37 runs scored and three stolen bases through 75 contests overall. • Dealing with bacterial infection
Anderson is not with the team due to a lower body bacterial infection, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: Anderson hasn't been with Atlanta on the team's current road trip, and it sounds as though he'll remain out for at least a few more days. "So, he hasn't been with us the whole way, but we're just hoping that at some point, we get him back," said manager Brian Snitker. Anderson remains on the active roster, which means Atlanta is playing down a man. Rotowire.com 33 minutes ago

    • Luis Rengifo remains in after HBP, gets two hits
Luis Rengifo went 2-for-3 with two runs scored against the A’s on Monday.

Advice: Rengifo was hit in the wrist by a pitch in his first at-bat and was clearly in pain for a bit, but he was able to continue and pick up two knocks afterwards. He scored multiple runs in a game for the first time since May 28. Rotoworld 46 minutes ago

    • Jo Adell goes 0-for-4, hitting .111 in June
Jo Adell finished 0-for-4 against the A’s on Monday, leaving him 7-for-63 with one homer in June.

Advice: Adell looked like maybe the AL’s most improved player over the first quarter of the season, but he’s all of the way down to .181/.242/.386 now. At least his defensive gains have remained intact. The Angels ought to keep playing him regularly, probably for the rest of the season, but it’s certainly still up for debate whether he belongs in their plans for 2025 and beyond. • Aledmys Díaz goes 0-for-3 against Angels
Aledmys Díaz went 0-for-3 with a strikeout as Oakland’s No. 9 hitter Monday against the Angels.

Advice: The A’s got ridiculously lucky that someone took Jace Peterson off their hands last summer, so they’ll keep giving Díaz the occasional start in the hopes that lightning will strike twice. The 33-year-old Díaz is 3-for-27 since returning from a calf injury on May 28. He hit .229/.280/.337 last year in the first season of a two-year, $14.5 million contract. Rotoworld 46 minutes ago

    • Michael Lorenzen solid for five against Brewers
Michael Lorenzen yielded two runs in five-plus innings Monday in a no-decision versus the Brewers.

Advice: Lorenzen and Freddy Peralta pitched to a stalemate in this one. Lorenzen struck out five and walked one while throwing 91 pitches. It’s the seventh straight start in which he’s allowed three runs or fewer, and while he didn’t go deep tonight, he’s completed six innings in five of those outing and 10 of 13 starts for the year. • Robert Jr. has double, two walks in loss Monday
Luis Robert Jr. went 1-for-2 with a double and two walks against the Dodgers on Monday.

Advice: Robert Jr. only has 91 at-bats this season, but he’s hitting .198 with a 35 percent strikeout percentage. For one of the most talked about potential trade pieces in baseball, he’s really had a rough season. Robert Jr.'s BABIP is only .217, which is well below his career .328 BABIP, but he still needs to cut his strikeouts. Maybe the two walks show that he’s seeing it better at the plate and he can start to turn his season around with a little more than a month before the trade deadline. Rotoworld Today, 8:20 pm

    • Brian Anderson out with bacterial infection
Brian Anderson wasn’t with the Braves for Monday’s game because of a lower body bacterial infection.

Advice: Anderson hasn’t had an at-bat since June 12, but until tonight, we imagine, that was simply because Brian Snitker hates using his bench players. If Anderson needs to go on the IL, the Braves figure to call up either Luke Williams or J.P. Martinez. Rotoworld Today, 8:12 pm
