    • Carlos Rodón strikes out nine in win over Twins
Carlos Rodón was terrific in Wednesday’s victory over the Twins, piling up nine strikeouts over six innings of two-run baseball.

Advice: The 31-year-old southpaw scattered just three hits on the night and didn’t allow a base on balls. He kept the Twins’ offense at bat completely through the first five frames until Carlos Santana slugged a solo homer in the sixth inning. The Twins also scratched out a run on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Carlos Correa later in the inning. Rodón generated 18 swings and misses on 100 pitches on the night — eight of those on his heater — while posting a strong CSW of 33 percent. Now 8-2 on the season, Rodón will attempt to keep the good times rolling as he carries a 3.08 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and a 71/20 K/BB ratio (73 innings) into Monday’s tilt against the Royals in Kansas City. • Homers twice in win
Devers went 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs, a walk, three total RBI and three total runs scored in Wednesday's 9-0 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Devers opened the scoring with an opposite-field solo shot off Spencer Schwellenbach in the second inning before extending the Red Sox lead to 8-0 with a two-run blast off left-hander Ray Kerr in the seventh. The 27-year-old Devers is now 7-for-19 (.368) with three homers and six RBI in his last five contests. He's slashing .288/.380/.576 with 13 homers, 32 RBI and 34 runs scored across 221 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:19 pm

    • Might not be ready Friday
Astros manager Joe Espada indicated Wednesday that Tucker (lower leg) might not be ready to return to the lineup Friday against the Angels, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: Tucker missed a second straight start Wednesday with a bruised right shin. While Espada said the outfielder is "making progress," he implied that Alex Bregman (hand) has a better shot to be ready to go Friday following the team's off day Thursday. Tucker was originally injured in Monday's game versus the Cardinals when he fouled a ball off his lower leg. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:52 pm

    • Kyle Tucker (shin) may not be ready by Friday
Astros’ manager Joe Espada told reporters after Wednesday’s loss to the Cardinals that Kyle Tucker (shin) may not be ready to rejoin the lineup on Friday.

Advice: The 27-year-old superstar missed his second consecutive game on Wednesday after leaving Monday’s game with a right shin contusion. It doesn’t sound like Tucker is going to require a trip to the injured list, but it is taking him longer to bounce back than originally anticipated. It’s a situation fantasy managers need to monitor heading into the Astros’ weekend series against the Angels in Los Angeles. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:36 pm

    • Yainer Diaz homers in third straight game vs. Cards
Yainer Diaz belted a solo homer on Wednesday in the Astros’ loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Diaz might want to consider relocating to the NL Central after homering for the third consecutive game on Wednesday afternoon against the Cardinals. The 25-year-old slugging backstop had just three round-trippers over 52 games to open the year, but has doubled his season total in just three contests since June 3. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:31 pm
    • Rafael Devers homers twice in rout
Rafael Devers homered twice, drove in three runs and walked Wednesday in the rout of the Braves.

Advice: Devers took advantage of the Green Monster twice today, hitting his homers 358 and 361 feet to the opposite field. He’s 6-for-15 with three homers and six RBI in four games to begin June, and he’s tied for eighth in the AL with 13 homers overall. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:25 pm

    • Gerrit Cole’s rehab assignment to continue
Gerrit Cole will require “at least a couple of more” rehab starts before coming off the injured list, according to manager Aaron Boone.

Advice: This was a given, but we’ll run with it anyway. Cole threw 45 pitches in 3 1/3 scoreless innings for Double-A Somerset on Tuesday. He should come in closer to 60 pitches next time out. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:59 pm

    • Remains out of lineup
Tucker (shin) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Cardinals, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: Tucker exited Monday's 7-4 win over St. Louis after fouling a ball off his right shin and has now missed two straight starts. The Astros are off Thursday, so Tucker could have a shot to return to the lineup Friday, when the club takes on the Angels. Trey Cabbage will cover right field Wednesday. • Pops fifth homer
Torres went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Twins.

Advice: He took Bailey Ober deep in the second inning to get the Yankees on the board, giving Torres his fifth long ball of the year. The second baseman has hit safely in five straight games and 10 of the last 11 as he shows signs of emerging from his season-long slump -- over that 11-game stretch he's slashing .297/.372/.514 with two doubles and two homers.
