    • Reaches base five times in loss
Chisholm went 2-for-2 with a triple, RBI, run scored, and three walks in Monday's 7-6 loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Chisholm drove in the Marlins first run with a two-out triple off Sonny Gray in the sixth. The Cardinals couldn't retire Chisholm in any of his five at-bats, he drew three walks in a game for just the second time in his career. The centerfielder also managed to extend a modest six-game hitting streak. He'll take a .266/.336/.449 slash line with 10 HR, 35 RBI, and 13 steals into his next game.  Rotowire.com 51 minutes ago

    • Jazz Chisholm Jr. reaches base five times in loss
Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 2-for-2 with an RBI on Monday in the Marlins’ extra-inning loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Chisholm walked three times in the extra-inning marathon, reaching base safely in all five of his plate appearances, but it wasn’t enough as Miami lost for the eighth time in their last 10 games since June 7. He also delivered a game-tying RBI triple against Cardinals starter Sonny Gray in the sixth inning. The 26-year-old outfielder has played almost every game this season for Miami and boasts a .785 OPS with 10 homers and 13 steals through 71 games. Rotoworld Today, 7:28 pm

    • Dealing with hamstring injury
Friedl suffered a hamstring injury and exited Monday's 4-1 loss to the Pirates in the bottom of the fifth inning, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Friedl made a diving catch in center field, robbing Nick Gonzales of an extra-base hit in the bottom of the fifth, injuring his hamstring in the process. Manager David Bell said that Friedl had a full range of motion and strength, stating that the hamstring was "just tight." The outfielder's status will be worth monitoring ahead of Tuesday's matchup with Pittsburgh, but it appears as if Friedl avoided a significant injury. Rotowire.com Today, 7:11 pm
    • Out of lineup but available
Rengifo (wrist) is absent from the lineup for Monday's game versus the Brewers, Michael Huntley of The Sporting Tribune reports.

Advice: Rengifo exited Sunday's loss to the Giants with a left wrist contusion as a result of a hit by pitch. The super utility player said he'll be available off the bench Monday, so it would seem he'll have a good shot to return to the lineup Tuesday. Luis Guillorme is handling third base in Rengifo's stead. Rotowire.com Today, 2:57 pm

    • Luis Rengifo (wrist) held out of starting lineup
Luis Rengifo is out of Monday’s lineup with a wrist contusion, though he thinks he could play if needed.

Advice: Rengifo was hurt while falling down in trying to make a play at third base yesterday. Luis Guillorme is starting at third base tonight. Rotoworld Today, 2:54 pm

    • Reds’ Christian Encarnacion-Strand to 60-day IL
Reds transferred 3B Christian Encarnacion-Strand from the 10-day to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: There still hasn’t been any word on whether CES will opt for season-ending surgery on his right hand. This officially rules him out until July 7, but there was no chance of him returning prior to the break anyway. Rotoworld Today, 1:11 pm
    • Shifts to 60-day IL
The Reds transferred Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

Advice: Encarnacion-Strand had been on the IL since May 8 with a right ulnar styloid fracture and wasn't expected to begin a rehab assignment anytime soon, so the move to the 60-day IL won't affect his eventual timeline for a return. According to Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer, manager David Bell reiterated Monday that Encarnacion-Strand remains in a bit of a holding pattern in his recovery from the injury. After he had been expected to increase his activity earlier this month, Encarnacion-Strand's rehab progression was put on pause when he sought a second opinion on his wrist from a specialist, who determined that the 24-year-old was dealing with ligament damage. Bell said that the Reds will wait a few more days to see how Encarnacion-Strand's wrist responds to rest before a determination is made on his next step, which could include anything from resuming baseball activities to going under the knife for season-ending surgery. • Gerrit Cole officially starting on Wednesday
According to Yankees manager Aaron Boone, Gerrit Cole will make his season debut on Wednesday against the Orioles

Advice: It always seemed likely that the Yankees would bring Cole back to face the Orioles, and we now know that will be the case. Cole has looked good during his rehab starts and was up to 70 pitches in his last outing, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him go at least 80 pitches on Wednesday night if the results allow. This also means the end of Cody Poteet in the Yankees’ rotation for now. Rotoworld Today, 12:25 pm

    • Set for season debut Wednesday
Yankees manager Aaron Boone confirmed Monday that Cole (elbow) will be activated from the 60-day injured list to make his season debut Wednesday against the Orioles, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Cole has been lights out on his rehab assignment, yielding one earned run with a 19:0 K:BB over 12.1 innings covering three starts. In his final rehab outing this past Friday with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Cole struck out 10 while allowing just one unearned run across 4.1 frames. The right-hander has been out all season after being diagnosed in mid-March with nerve irritation and edema in his right elbow. Cole's workload will likely be curtailed initially after he had a high of 68 pitches on his rehab assignment. Rotowire.com Today, 12:23 pm
