      Cal Raleigh clobbered a three-run homer on Wednesday, leading the Mariners to a 5-2 victory over the Rays.

      Advice: Raleigh put Seattle ahead for good in a low-scoring series finale at Tropicana Field by walloping a gargantuan 422-foot dinger to right field off Rays reliever Shawn Armstrong in the sixth inning. It was his lone hit of the contest, but he also drew a pair of walks as well. The 27-year-old backstop remains a liability in the batting average department, but he’s up to 14 big flies already and is on pace for his second consecutive 30-homer campaign.       Bryson Stott doubled, walked, stole a base and scored three runs on Wednesday afternoon as the Phillies triumphed over the Tigers.

      Advice: Stott started the fourth inning by working Keider Montero for a walk and then rode home on Brandon Marsh’s two-run blast. He then doubled the following inning and scored on a two-run single off the bat of Marsh. Stott also reached on a fielder’s choice in the eighth, swiped second base and scored on a sacrifice fly by David Dahl.     • Takes swings in batting cage
      Casas (ribs) took approximately 20 swings in the batting cage Wednesday at about 75 percent effort, Molly Burkhardt of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Casas resumed hitting for the first time since he was diagnosed with a cartilage tear in his left ribcage in late April. He said he felt great during the workout, but he noted that the real test will be to see how sore he is Thursday. If Casas isn't experiencing too much discomfort Thursday, he could be cleared to start hitting off a tee.
