  • J.T. Riddle (shoulder) out again Sunday
J.T. Riddle (shoulder) remained out of the Marlins' lineup Sunday.

Advice: He'll miss a fourth straight start with right shoulder tendinitis. Miguel Rojas will handle shortstop. The Marlins are also giving J.T. Realmuto and Marcell Ozuna days off, as they have A.J. Ellis at catcher and Ichiro Suzuki in left field. Rotoworld.com Today, 7:15 am

  • Chris Taylor comes off bench and shines
Chris Taylor finished 2-for-2 with a solo home run and three RBI in Saturday's home victory against Atlanta.

Advice: Taylor came on as part of a double switch in the seventh inning despite the fact he has been tearing the cover off the ball. Trayce Thompson started and struggled again, so don't look for Taylor's playing time to be curtailed much. Taylor is now hitting .429 (27-for-63) with six doubles, three triples, three homers and 10 RBI across 16 games with a 1.208 OPS. Rotoworld.com Today, 2:28 am

  • Johan Camargo picks up two doubles in loss
Johan Camargo posted a pair of doubles with a run scored across four at-bats in Saturday's road loss against the Dodgers.

Advice: Camargo is getting a chance to play regularly and he is making the most of his opportunity. He has back-to-back multi-hit efforts, and two or more hits in eight of his past 12 outings to raise his average from .273 to .324 dating back to July 4. Rotoworld.com Today, 2:12 am
  • Gordon goes 2-for-5 with two stolen bases Sat
Dee Gordon went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and a run scored in a win over the Reds on Saturday.

Advice: He singled leading off the game, then stole second and third bases before scoring on a Giancarlo Stanton ground-out. For the season Gordon is batting .290/.334/.348 with zero home runs, 19 RBI and 58 runs scored. His 34 stolen bases trail only Billy Hamilton and Trea Turner in the majors. • Gennett goes 2-for-4 with an RBI vs Marlins
Scooter Gennett went 2-for-4 with an RBI as his club fell to the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: His eighth-inning RBI single drew the Reds within a run but they weren't able to score again. Gennett has been marvelously productive as a super-utility player this season, batting .311/.362/.584 with 16 home runs and 55 RBI in just 238 at-bats. Earlier this week the club announced he would become the starting second baseman moving forward, sending Jose Peraza to the bench. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:20 pm

  • Gonzalez crushes pinch-hit three-run bomb
Marwin Gonzalez blasted a pinch-hit, three-run bomb in an 8-4 win over the Orioles on Saturday.

Advice: He came in to replace Colin Moran in the middle of an at-bat after the young third baseman took a foul ball to the eye and had to be carted off the field in the sixth inning. Gonzalez promptly launched a three-run tater to put his club in the lead to stay. He added a double in his second at-bat. The veteran infielder has been one of the biggest surprises in the game this year. He offers multi-position eligibility in fantasy leagues and is slashing .316/.394/.593 with 18 homers and 58 RBI in 79 games. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:58 pm

  • Flores caps Mets comeback with walk-off homer
Wilmer Flores hit a walk-off, solo home run in the ninth inning Saturday to complete the Mets' comeback in a 6-5 win over the Athletics.

Advice: The Mets once trailed 5-0 in the game, but they battled against A's starter Sean Manaea to close the gap and got to the Athletics' bullpen late. That included Flores, who deposited a Simon Castro fastball into the left field seats to send the fans home happy. Flores finished 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored in the game. The 25-year-old infielder doesn't have a permanent home but has been serviceable when called upon, batting .284/.312/.473 in 222 at-bats this year. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:23 pm

  • Chad Pinder (hamstring) nearing a return
Athletics manager Bob Melvin said there's a "good chance" Chad Pinder (hamstring) will join the team on its upcoming homestand.

Advice: The A's begin a five-game homestand on Friday and Pinder is on track to join them around that time. Pinder has looked rusty during his rehab stint with Triple-A Nashville, hitting just .200 with six strikeouts in 10 at-bats. A hamstring strain has kept him out since late June. Chris Bassitt (elbow), Ryan Dull (knee) and Bobby Wahl (shoulder) are also nearing returns from the disabled list. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 6:04 pm

  • Rutledge (concussion) to come off DL Monday
The Red Sox are expected to activate Josh Rutledge (concussion) from the disabled list on Monday.

Advice: Manager John Farrell insinuated that the Red Sox would likely send down a reliever to make room for him. Rutledge seems to be over his concussion and began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Pawtucket on Thursday. He'll split time at third base with Brock Holt and Deven Marrero, though the Red Sox are likely to upgrade that position at the trade deadline. A .258 career hitter with very little power, Rutledge carries no fantasy relevance. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 5:59 pm

  • Yankees call up Wade to replace Castro
Yankees recalled INF Tyler Wade from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Advice: He's replacing Starlin Castro, who is headed back to the DL after aggravating his strained hamstring. Wade has struggled at the big league level this season, hitting just .107 with 10 strikeouts in 28 at-bats. Look for him and Ronald Torreyes to share playing time at second base during Castro's absence. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 5:10 pm
  • Hamstring flareup sends Castro back to DL
Yankees placed 2B Starlin Castro on the 10-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring.

Advice: It's the same injury that sent Castro to the DL last month. Castro hasn't looked right since returning—he's collected just five hits over his last 22 at-bats (.227 AVG)—and probably came back too soon. This absence figures to be much longer than his last one. Ronald Torreyes is filling in at second base Saturday against Seattle and Tyler Wade was called up to take Castro's spot on the 25-man roster. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 5:09 pm

  • Paul DeJong homers off Lester in 3-2 loss
Paul DeJong launched his 11th home run Saturday in the Cardinals’ loss to the Cubs.

Advice: DeJong’s two-out solo blast off Jon Lester in the eighth inning accounted for the game’s first run. Randal Grichuk followed with a solo bomb of his own in the next at-bat, though the Cubs rallied for a 3-2 victory. The 23-year-old had been just four for his last 31 before Saturday’s breakout. • Orioles looking to lock Schoop up long-term
Orioles GM Dan Duquette said the team discussed a long-term deal with Jonathan Schoop over the winter.

Advice: Obviously nothing came of it, but Duquette said the team plans to revisit those talks at a later date. Schoop has had a breakout year for the Orioles, leading the team with 20 homers and 67 RBI. He was also the Orioles' lone All-Star representative. The 25-year-old is under contract through 2019, so there's still plenty of time for the sides to work something out. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 3:27 pm
  • Asdrubal Cabrera making 1st start at 3B
Asdrubal Cabrera is starting at third base Saturday against the Athletics.

Advice: It will be his first career start at third base and only his second MLB appearance at the hot corner after playing part of one game there as a rookie in 2007. The Mets, who have already moved Cabrera once this season (and he wasn't happy about it), are transitioning Cabrera to third with second baseman Neil Walker expected to come back off the disabled list any day now. Surely the Mets are also hoping Cabrera's versatility will make him more appealing to teams at the trade deadline. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 1:37 pm

Buster Olney of ESPN reports that the Brewers have expressed interest in acquiring Ian Kinsler from the Tigers.

Advice: The Brewers are in free fall mode and have seen their lead in the National League Central evaporate since the All-Star break, so they're exploring all options. He's only on the books for this season, plus a very affordable $10 million club option for 2018, so he's a guy who could make a lot of sense to teams looking for an upgrade at second base. • Jose Pirela triples, doubles in four-hit game
Jose Pirela finished 4-for-6 with triple, a double and three RBI on Friday.

Advice: He also walked in the 11-inning victory. Pirela is batting .296 with 15 doubles and five homers in just 152 at-bats. Plate discipline is an issue, and he's miscast as a leadoff man for the Padres. Still, he's been the team's best hitter since his callup. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 12:12 am
  • Carlos Asuaje knocks in three
Carlos Asuaje went 4-for-7 with three RBI against the Giants in Friday's 11-inning game.

Advice: Asuaje was a disappointment in Triple-A this year, posting a .741 OPS while playing in an extremely friendly hitting environment at El Paso. He's done quite a bit better in the majors thus far, coming in at .830 in 84 at-bats. If it keeps up, he should continue to start at second after Yangervis Solarte returns, with Solarte returning to his old position. Unfortunately, his lack of power and stolen base ability still leaves him with little fantasy upside. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 12:09 am
  • Merrifield has walk-off sac fly
Whit Merrifield delivered a walk-off sacrifice fly in the 10th inning as part of Friday’s 7-6 victory over the White Sox.

Advice: The game-winner was set up after Tyler Clippard walked Jorge Bonifacio to load the bases. Merrifield drove in three runs on the day, including a two-run double. He also swiped a base, which gives him 16 steals overall. Locked in as the Royals’ primary leadoff hitter, the 28-year-old is a useful and versatile option in deeper mixed fantasy leagues. • Schoop blasts three-run homer in loss Friday
Jonathan Schoop clubbed a three-run homer as part of a five-run rally in the ninth inning on Friday, but it still wasn't enough to overcome the Astros.

Advice: Schoop's shot off of Chris Devenski pulled the Orioles to within a run at 8-7, but that would be as close as they would get. He also singled in the ballgame, finishing the night 2-for-5. The 25-year-old has now homered in each of his last two games and is slashing .303/.351/.547 with 20 homers and 67 RBI on the season. Rotoworld.com Friday, 7:11 pm

With the ice broken, the O's scored three more in the fifth and four in the sixth, with Schoop's two-run single capping the sixth inning outburst. Advice: It's the first time he's done so since he landed on the disabled list back in mid-June with a strained left hamstring. Walker doesn't appear to be too far off from a rehab assignment as long as he can avoid a setback. Rotoworld.com Monday, 1:14 pm

  • Gennett homers, drives in four against Nats
Scooter Gennett homered and drove in four runs in a loss to the Nationals on Saturday.

Advice: Gennett and the Reds had no answers for Nationals starter Max Scherzer, but the club pounded out seven runs against a beleaguered Nats bullpen. That included Gennett's three-run homer in the ninth inning, his 16th of the year. That's already a career-best for the 27-year-old, who has found new life in Cincinnati after being cast off by the Brewers. Gennett is batting a robust .310/.364/.610 in 74 games overall this year. • Brewers unsure on Sogard (ankle) for Sat.
The Brewers aren't sure whether Eric Sogard (ankle) will be ready to come off the disabled list when first eligible on Saturday.

Advice: "He's got some tests that he's going to have to pass still," manager Craig Counsell said. "So I'm not sure it'll be Saturday. He had a good week (of recovery), a good weekend in New York, and it's going in the right direction. But we want to make sure this is behind him when we activated him, and it's not something that lingers." Sogard has been excellent overall with the Brewers this season, although he was in a 4-for-24 slump before going on the DL. He and Jonathan Villar would figure to be in something of a timeshare at second base once he's activated. Rotoworld.com Friday, 7:32 am
