  • Swanson doubles, scores twice in loss
Dansby Swanson went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Wednesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Swanson picked up double No. 14 of the season in the defeat. The 23-year-old shortstop has largely struggled this season, hitting just .213/.287/.312 with six homers, 35 RBI and 36 runs scored in 324 at-bats. His two hits on Wednesday snapped an 0-for-15 skid. Braves manager Brian Snitker has not ruled out the possibility that Swanson could potentially be sent down to the minors given his issues this year. Rotoworld.com Today, 4:58 pm
  • Alex Bregman (hamstring) out of lineup Wed.
Alex Bregman (hamstring) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

Advice: Bregman was lifted from action on Tuesday due to discomfort in his right hamstring. He is being listed as day-to-day. Yulieski Gurriel will play third in his place on Wednesday and is hitting fourth. Rotoworld.com Today, 1:08 pm

Zack Cozart (quad) is out of the Reds' starting lineup Wednesday versus the Yankees.

  • Dilson Herrera undergoes shoulder surgery
Dilson Herrera underwent surgery to remove bone spurs from his right shoulder.

Advice: That'll be a wrap for his 2017 season. Herrera didn't make a single appearance in the majors this year and he registered an underwhelming .264/.312/.397 batting line over 68 games for Triple-A Louisville. The former top-100 prospect will try to get his career back on track in 2018. Rotoworld.com Today, 6:59 am

  • Chris Taylor continues to swing a hot bat
Chris Taylor picked up a pair of doubles with three RBI in Tuesday's victory against Minnesota.

Advice: Taylor has been on fire, posting four straight multi-hit games, while collecting two or more hits across nine of his past 11 outings. He is hitting an incredible .523 (23-for-44) with five doubles, three triples and two homers to increase his average from .285 to .321 just since July 9. Rotoworld.com Today, 1:07 am

  • Eduardo Escobar drives in another run
Eduardo Escobar finished 1-for-4 with an RBI in Tuesday's game in San Diego.

Advice: While it isn't much, he has posted four RBI over the past six outings. That's newsworthy because he had managed just four RBI in a 23-game span from June 17-July 16. Slowly but surely he is coming alive at the plate again. Rotoworld.com Today, 12:54 am
  • Chris Owings snaps hitless drought
Chris Owings finished 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Tuesday's game against the Braves.

Advice: Owings delivered an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning to snap an ugly 23 at-bat hitless skid. It was just his second RBI over the past 17 games, as he has been ice-cold in the blazing hot desert. Perhaps the extra-base hit and RBI will give him a little confidence heading into Wednesday's homestand finale. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 11:23 pm

  • Red Sox announce trade for Eduardo Nunez
Red Sox acquired INF/OF Eduardo Nunez from the Giants for RHP Shaun Anderson and RHP Gregory Santos.

Advice: Nunez had a double, two RBI, and two runs scored for the Giants on Tuesday night against the Pirates before getting lifted in the bottom of the fifth inning. Shortly thereafter, FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal broke word of the trade to Boston. Nunez has been hitting well lately and can play a variety of positions for the Red Sox, but look for top prospect Rafael Devers to continue getting most of the starts at third base. Nunez, a 30-year-old impending free agent, will work in more of a utility role. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:42 pm

  • Story felt tightness in calf on Tuesday night
Trevor Story said he felt tightness in his left calf during Tuesday's loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Story didn't really show it, belting a game-tying solo homer in the top of the eighth inning and making a couple nice defensive plays at shortstop. He could get the day off Wednesday. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:36 pm
  • Red Sox getting Eduardo Nunez from Giants
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal confirms that Eduardo Nunez has been traded to the Red Sox.

Advice: Nunez was lifted in the fifth inning Tuesday night at AT&T Park and the Giants' television broadcast showed him sharing hugs with his teammates in the dugout. Now we know where the 30-year-old third baseman is headed. Nunez was 1-for-2 with two RBI and two runs scored in his final game with the Giants on Tuesday night against the Pirates. He's slashing .308/.334/.417 with four home runs and 18 stolen bases in 76 games this season. San Francisco will get a pair of minor league pitchers in return. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:26 pm

  • Zack Cozart aggravates left quadriceps injury
Zack Cozart aggravated his left quad injury on Tuesday night against the Yankees.

Advice: Cozart was held out of the Reds' starting lineup as a precautionary measure for the lingering injury, but he entered as a pinch-hitter in the eighth and had to beat out a fielder's choice to first base. Cozart was then pulled after limping into third after Billy Hamilton's two-out double to right field -- a hit Cozart normally would have scored on. This situation comes with awful timing for the rebuilding Reds, who were aiming to deal the impending free agent shortstop ahead of the July 31 trade deadline. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:55 pm

  • Trevor Story goes deep in Rockies' loss
Trevor Story clubbed a solo homer in Tuesday's loss in St. Louis.

Advice: Story launched a deep one over the left field wall in the eighth inning to knot the game up before the Cardinals walked the Rockies off in the bottom of the ninth. He's now homered in three of his last six games and is batting .353 with three dingers and 11 RBI over his last eight contests. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:38 pm
  • Tim Beckham blasts three-run HR to beat O's
Tim Beckham blasted a three-run homer on Tuesday, powering the Rays to a 5-4 victory over the Orioles.

Advice: His three-run shot capped off a five-run uprising in the second inning off of O's starter Wade Miley. While it was his lone hit in four at-bats on the afternoon, it was the biggest blow in the game. He has filled in admirably for the injured Matt Duffy this season, hitting .262/.316/.419 with 12 bombs and 36 RBI. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:40 pm

USA Today's Bob Nightengale reports that the Red Sox "continue to scout" Eduardo Nunez.

Advice: The impending free agent is a shoo-in to be traded before the deadline. Boston makes some sense as a landing spot for Nunez, as he'd offer insurance for Rafael Devers at third base and could move around to different positions if it looks like Devers is ready to contribute. The 30-year-old is batting .305/.330/.414 with four homers and 17 steals for the Giants this season. Rotoworld.com Monday, 8:45 pm

  • Trevor Story smashes two-run homer
Trevor Story went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Pirates.

Advice: Story clocked a two-run homer off Ivan Nova in the sixth inning to give the Rockies a 7-1 lead. It was one of three two-run home runs the Rockies socked in the seven-run frame (Pat Valaika and Mark Reynolds provided the other two). For the season, Story is now hitting .237/.316/.429 with 13 homers and 46 RBI over the course of 84 games played. He has raised his average from .224 to its current .237 mark over his last 10 games.
