    • Idle Saturday
Siani isn't in the Cardinals' lineup Saturday versus the Rockies.

Advice: Siani will take a seat Saturday despite the Rockies sending out right-hander Ryan Feltner to start on the mound. Brendan Donovan, Dylan Carlson and Alec Burleson will instead start across the outfield for St. Louis Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago

    • Ty France scratched from Saturday’s lineup
Ty France was scratched from the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Royals.

Advice: No word yet on the specific issue or severity, but France will take a seat with Luke Raley taking over at first base. Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports France was in some apparent discomfort during pregame defensive drills. There should be an update on his status shortly. Rotoworld 40 minutes ago

    • Sitting Saturday
Bauers isn't in the Brewers' lineup Saturday versus Detroit.

Advice: Bauers will take a seat after going 0-for-4 with a walk and a run scored during Milwaukee's win in Friday's series opener. Rhys Hoskins will start at first and Christian Yelich will serve as the DH, allowing Jackson Chourio to start in left field. Rotowire.com 41 minutes ago

    • Fields grounders Friday
Rendon (hamstring) progressed to taking groundballs Friday, per MLB.com.

Advice: Rendon resumed baseball activities earlier in the week, making throws and taking swings in the batting cages. His ability Friday to take grounders -- albeit only on balls that were hit right at him in order to avoid lateral movement -- was another sign of progress, and Rendon is expected to put his strained left hamstring to an even bigger test by jogging Saturday. Rendon remains weeks away from a return, but it's now feasible that he could be back with the Angels by the end of June. Rotowire.com 42 minutes ago

    • Called up to majors
The Rockies recalled Amador from Double-A Hartford on Saturday, independent journalist Francys Romero reports.

Advice: Amador only sports a .666 OPS through 208 plate appearances this season with Hartford, but he has slashed .326/.388/.767 with six homers and 14 RBI while also stealing six bases across his last 10 games. It's unclear how long his first stint in the big leagues will last, but he'll at least provide some immediate middle-infield depth with Brendan Rodgers battling a hamstring injury. • Jordan Romano to resume throwing on Monday
Jordan Romano (elbow) is scheduled to resume throwing on Monday.

Advice: Blue Jays manager John Schneider added that Romano received an anti-inflammatory injection in his right elbow last weekend. It’s going to take a couple weeks for the 31-year-old closer to build up his arm strength before returning to Toronto’s bullpen, but it’s an encouraging sign that he’s been cleared to resume throwing again. • Robert Gasser heading for third opinion on elbow
Robert Gasser will get a third opinion on his left elbow in the coming days.

Advice: Gasser will visit specialist Dr. Keith Meister in the cominf days after a second opinion on his left elbow revealed durability issues with his UCL. It doesn’t sound like the 25-year-old rookie southpaw is dealing with a tear or serious damage, but there’s enough of an issue that it might be worth undergoing surgery now instead of the rest and rehabilitation route. There should finally be some clarity on his status at some point in the next week or so. Rotoworld 46 minutes ago

    • Garrett Mitchell starting rehab assignment Tuesday
Garrett Mitchell (finger) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday.

Advice: Mitchell has been on the shelf since spring training recovering from a fractured left finger. The 25-year-old has some contact issues to address, but has some power/speed impact potential, which is enough to keep him on fantasy radar screens, if he can stay healthy. • Taking dry swings
Muncy (oblique) has begun taking dry swings and doing plyo-ball workouts, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: This is a step forward for Muncy, as he had previously been unable to swing a bat at all after continuing to experience soreness in his oblique. However, manager Dave Roberts said last week that the third baseman is on a "slow program," so Muncy doesn't appear to be particularly close to a return. He hasn't played in a game since May 15 and will likely need to go on a rehab assignment before rejoining the big-league club. Rotowire.com 51 minutes ago
