      Shohei Ohtani went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts on Sunday in the Dodgers’ blowout loss to the Giants.

      Advice: We’re fairly confident he’s going to be just fine moving forward. There will be days like this, even for generational superstar like Ohtani, who launched his 26th round-tripper of the season during Saturday’s extra-inning win over the division-rival Giants.     • Yelich pops eighth home run in win Sunday
      Christian Yelich went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run against the Cubs on Sunday.



      Advice: The home run was Yelich’s eighth of the year. His power isn’t what it was earlier in his career. Yelich has a .166 ISO on the season and hasn’t had at least a .200 ISO since 2020. It’s always nice to see him pop a home run even if it was off Kyle Hendricks. Yelich is hitting .321 with an .885 OPS and 36 RBI this year.

    • Randy Arozarena homers in win
      Randy Arozarena went 2-for-4 with a solo home run on Sunday against the Nationals.

      Advice: Arozarena has been trending up of late and this game may have been the exclamation point on his return to self. He has a hit in 12 of his last 14 games and on Sunday became the fifth player this season to hit four balls at least 105 MPH in the same game joining Yordan Alvarez, Juan Soto, Ketel Marte, and Gunnar Henderson.       Melendez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

    • Returning from four-game absence
      Candelario (hamstring) will serve as the Reds' designated hitter and No. 3 batter in Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

      Advice: After missing out on four straight starts due to hamstring tendinitis, Candelario will draw back into the lineup in a non-defensive role as he makes his fifth start of the season at DH. With Noelvi Marte recently completing his 80-game suspension and likely to see the bulk of the starts at third base moving forward, Candelario could end up picking up most of his playing time at either DH or first base, which should help aid his recovery from the hamstring issue.       Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored while also drawing two walks in Saturday's extra-innings win over the Giants.

      Advice: Ohtani took Spencer Howard deep in the top of the third to give the Dodgers a 2-1 lead and later came around to score for a second time in the 11th after drawing a leadoff walk. The slugger is now up to 12 homers in the month of June, with nine of them coming over his last 12 games.       Civale (2-6) was tagged with the loss against Washington on Saturday, allowing two runs on six hits and four walks while striking out two batters over 5.2 innings.

      Advice: Civale threw only 58 of 102 pitches for strikes and handed out four free passes, but he managed to mostly weave out of trouble and finished one out shy of a quality start. Nonetheless, he ended up in the loss column since the Rays' offense gave him only one run of support. Civale has gone 14 straight outings without a victory, and he hasn't pitched well overall with a 5.79 ERA over that span.       Lowe went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double in Saturday's 6-5 loss to the Orioles.

      Advice: Lowe has four multi-hit efforts over his last nine games, a span that also includes two of his four homers this year. The first baseman has never displayed elite power, but his .369 slugging percentage for the season is low even by his standard.     • Shohei Ohtani belts 26th homer in win over Giants
      Shohei Ohtani belted his 26th home run of the season on Saturday night, helping to power the Dodgers past the Giants in extra innings.

      Advice: The 29-year-old superstar victimized right-hander Spencer Howard in the third inning for his 412-foot (109.7 mph EV) solo shot that briefly gave the Dodgers a 2-1 advantage. He also drew a pair of walks and struck out twice in the contest, finishing the evening 1-for-4. One of those walks was intentional in the 11th inning, where he then raced around to score on a two-run double off the bat of Will Smith.
