    Advice: Walls has been out all season following offseason hip surgery and had his recovery delayed due to inflammation in the hip. However, he recently got back up to speed during a five-game rehab stint with Triple-A Durham, going 8-for-21 at the plate.   • Phillies acquire Kennedy, option him to Triple-A
    Phillies acquired INF Buddy Kennedy from the Tigers for cash considerations.

    Advice: Kennedy was traded one day after clearing waivers and being sent outright to Triple-A. Now he’ll be in Triple-A Lehigh Valley with the Phillies organization.     The Phillies acquired Kennedy from the Tigers on Friday in exchange for cash considerations and optioned him to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

    Advice: The official transactions log on MLB.com had listed Kennedy as having been outrighted by the Tigers after clearing waivers, but that was erroneous and has since been deleted. Instead, he's headed to Lehigh Valley, where he will give the Phillies some infield depth. Kennedy has slashed .205/.294/.316 in 46 games over parts of three seasons in the majors.     Advice: Rojas generated three or more hits for the second time this season, with the other such performance happening May 29 against the Mets. He also swiped his third bag of the campaign, taking second base off Bailey Falter and Henry Davis in the first inning.     After being held out of the starting lineup due to a hip flexor, Manny Machado grounded out as a pinch-hitter Thursday against the Diamondbacks.

    Advice: Machado was held out of Thursday's lineup after suffering a hip flexor strain Wednesday. He is considered day-to-day and was expected to be unavailable Thursday.     Advice: It’s a tad surprising the Tigers were able to sneak Kennedy through waivers, but he’ll presumably head back to Triple-A Toledo to wait for another opportunity at the highest level. The 25-year-old infielder has morphed into a modern-era Quad-A hitter over the last few years, putting up stellar on-base numbers at the Triple-A level, while struggling to produce at the highest level in several opportunities.   • Manny Machado out Thursday with hip flexor strain
    Manny Machado (hip) is absent from the lineup for Thursday’s series opener against the Diamondbacks.

    Advice: No surprise here after Machado suffered a mild right hip flexor strain during Wednesday’s series finale against the Angels. The 31-year-old third baseman will presumably require a couple days off to rest and recover, but fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.
