• Homers in win
Burger went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 3-0 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Burger has gone 8-for-63 (.127) over 16 games since he returned from an oblique injury, with Friday's effort being his second multi-hit game in that span. He's yet to find a rhythm at the plate, and he was slumping just before the injury too. Burger is slashing .175/.211/.300 with four homers, 17 RBI, 11 runs scored and three doubles over 128 plate appearances this season, though he remains in a starting role for a Marlins team that has no intention to contend in 2024. • David Fry stays hot with homer, two hits vs. LAA
David Fry homered while going 2-for-3 in a blowout win over the Angels on Friday.

Advice: Just like we all expected, Fry has been one of the best hitters in the American League this season. You can’t prove we didn’t expect it, anyway. Fry has gone deep six times in his 35 games, and his slash is a borderline unrealistic .360/.500/.628 over that timeframe. Mainly thanks to catcher-eligibility, Fry has to be rostered right now. • Goes deep in loss
Vaughn went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Friday's loss to Baltimore.

Advice: Vaughn knocked an RBI double and came around to score in the fifth inning before belting a game-tying solo shot in the seventh. It was the first time he left the yard since his two-homer performance May 14. He has just four home runs with a .587 OPS through 200 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:04 pm
  • Jake Burger clobbers homer in win over Arizona
Jake Burger hit a solo homer in the Marlins’ win over the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: Burger shellacked a solo homer off Zac Gallen to give the Marlins a 3-0 lead. The 28-year-old has dealt with injuries in 2024 and hasn’t been successful even when on the field (.175/.211/.300), but he was one of the best infielders in baseball in the second half of 2024. Burger is a solid buy-low candidate for those looking for an upgrade at third/the corner-infield position. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:43 pm

  • Knocks fifth home run
Steer went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer, a walk and two runs scored in Friday's win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Steer got the Reds' offense started with a three-run blast in the first inning. He snapped a 17-game homerless drought, during which he posted an unsightly .527 OPS. Despite his terrific start to 2024 (1.264 OPS through 11 games), Steer now owns a .227/.343/.390 slash line with 17 extra-base hits through 204 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:06 pm

  • Mark Vientos homers again
Mark Vientos 1-for-4 with a walk, home run, and two runs scored in a loss to the Giants on Friday.

Advice: Vientos has all but usurped Brett Baty at third base for the Mets, starting six out of nine games, homering three times, and sporting a 1.167 OPS in 35 at-bats this season. Manager Carlos Mendoza told the media Baty would get a start this weekend, but Vientos’ hot streak is giving him little choice in the matter. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:28 pm

  • Mark Canha scores twice in victory over Blue Jays
Mark Canha singled, walked and scored a pair of runs as the Tigers crushed the Blue Jays on Friday evening in Motown.

Advice: Canha reached on an infield single in the fourth inning then scored as Colt Keith was plunked by an 0-2 pitch with the bases loaded. He also worked a two-out walk off of Alek Manoah in the fifth inning and rode home on Kerry Carpenter’s two-run blast. On the season, he’s now hitting .226/.349/.384 to go along with six homers and 20 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:21 pm

  • Bryce Harper ejected for arguing balls and strikes
Bryce Harper was ejected from Friday’s game against the Rockies in the first inning after arguing balls and strikes.

Advice: Harper went down swinging on three pitches in his first at-bat against Ty Blach and took exception to the second pitch that was called a strike. He’ll catch the rest of Friday’s game from the clubhouse. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:52 pm
  • DJ LeMahieu (foot) on track to return on Tuesday
DJ LeMahieu (foot) remains on track to return to the Yankees’ lineup on Tuesday.

Advice: The 35-year-old infielder will play in a pair of minor league rehab games at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday and Sunday, and as long as everything goes well, he’ll be activated from the injured list. Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone has already indicated that LeMahieu will see the bulk of the action at third base while he’s healthy. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:23 pm
