    Advice: Burger has gone 8-for-63 (.127) over 16 games since he returned from an oblique injury, with Friday's effort being his second multi-hit game in that span. He's yet to find a rhythm at the plate, and he was slumping just before the injury too. Burger is slashing .175/.211/.300 with four homers, 17 RBI, 11 runs scored and three doubles over 128 plate appearances this season, though he remains in a starting role for a Marlins team that has no intention to contend in 2024.     David Fry homered while going 2-for-3 in a blowout win over the Angels on Friday.

    Advice: Just like we all expected, Fry has been one of the best hitters in the American League this season. You can’t prove we didn’t expect it, anyway. Fry has gone deep six times in his 35 games, and his slash is a borderline unrealistic .360/.500/.628 over that timeframe. Mainly thanks to catcher-eligibility, Fry has to be rostered right now.     Vaughn went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Friday's loss to Baltimore.

    Advice: Vaughn knocked an RBI double and came around to score in the fifth inning before belting a game-tying solo shot in the seventh. It was the first time he left the yard since his two-homer performance May 14. He has just four home runs with a .587 OPS through 200 plate appearances this season.     Jake Burger hit a solo homer in the Marlins’ win over the Diamondbacks on Friday.

    Advice: Burger shellacked a solo homer off Zac Gallen to give the Marlins a 3-0 lead. The 28-year-old has dealt with injuries in 2024 and hasn’t been successful even when on the field (.175/.211/.300), but he was one of the best infielders in baseball in the second half of 2024.     Steer went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer, a walk and two runs scored in Friday's win over the Dodgers.

    Advice: Steer got the Reds' offense started with a three-run blast in the first inning. He snapped a 17-game homerless drought, during which he posted an unsightly .527 OPS.   • Mark Vientos homers again
    Mark Vientos 1-for-4 with a walk, home run, and two runs scored in a loss to the Giants on Friday.

    Advice: Vientos has all but usurped Brett Baty at third base for the Mets, starting six out of nine games, homering three times, and sporting a 1.167 OPS in 35 at-bats this season.     Mark Canha singled, walked and scored a pair of runs as the Tigers crushed the Blue Jays on Friday evening in Motown.

    Advice: Canha reached on an infield single in the fourth inning then scored as Colt Keith was plunked by an 0-2 pitch with the bases loaded. He also worked a two-out walk off of Alek Manoah in the fifth inning and rode home on Kerry Carpenter’s two-run blast.     Bryce Harper was ejected from Friday’s game against the Rockies in the first inning after arguing balls and strikes.

    Advice: The 35-year-old infielder will play in a pair of minor league rehab games at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday and Sunday, and as long as everything goes well, he’ll be activated from the injured list.
