      Doyle went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run scored in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Cardinals.

      Advice: Doyle's only involvement Wednesday was as a pinch runner, and he was caught stealing. He checked back into the lineup and swiped two bags Thursday, giving him 16 thefts on 19 attempts this season with his first successful steals since May 26. The outfielder continues to put together a decent season with a .265/.339/.408 slash line, five home runs, 16 RBI, 37 runs scored, 11 doubles and two triples over 239 plate appearances.     • Stroman allows five in no-decision Thursday
      Marcus Stroman allowed five runs in 4 2/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Yankees’ 8-5 victory over the Twins on Thursday.

      Advice: Stroman gave up six hits, walked two and struck out two. He didn’t qualify for the win because he was unable to complete five innings. Stroman’s ERA is 3.16 on the season, but his xFIP is significantly higher at 4.48. He’s never been a big strikeout pitcher and has benefitted from an 82 percent left on base percentage this year.       Brenton Doyle went 1-for-4 with a run scored and two stolen bases against the Cardinals on Thursday.



      Advice: The two steals give Doyle a total of 16 on the season. He’s hitting .265 with five home runs, but the speed gives him a decent amount of value in fantasy. Doyle is hitting .337 at Coors Field this year compared to just .203 on the road.     • Freddie Freeman swats three-run homer in win
      Freddie Freeman walloped a three-run homer on Thursday in the Dodgers’ win over the Pirates.

      Advice: Freeman followed singles by Mookie Betts and Shohei Ohtani in the opening frame with a no-doubter down the right-field line off Pirates starter Bailey Falter. The 34-year-old first baseman has gone deep twice in his last four contests and is up to eight big flies on the year to go along with a .294 batting average and 38 RBI through 64 games.       CJ Abrams went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Braves on Thursday.

      Advice: The home run was Abrams’ 10th of the season. He had slumped and missed time with shoulder soreness last week, but seemed unbothered on Thursday.     • Hangs on for fourth save
      Garcia earned the save Thursday against the Orioles despite allowing two runs on a hit in the ninth inning. He struck out two.

      Advice: Garcia had Baltimore down to their final out before hitting Austin Hays with a pitch and subsequently surrendering a two-run homer to Ryan O'Hearn, cutting Toronto's lead to 6-5. However, Garcia would then strike out Kyle Stowers for the final out, securing his fourth save this season. The 33-year-old Garcia has converted both of Toronto's save chances since Jordan Romano (elbow) was placed on the IL on June 1. While he's allowed three runs in his last three innings, Garcia still sports a solid 2.16 ERA with a 0.72 WHIP and 33:7 K:BB across 25 innings this year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:10 pm

      Singer didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Guardians, allowing three runs (two earned) on nine hits and a walk over 3.2 innings. He struck out two.

      Advice: Singer's final line could've been much worse, as he matched a season high with nine hits allowed while failing to make it through four innings. Prior to Thursday, Singer hadn't allowed more than one earned run in five of his last six outings. Overall, the 27-year-old right-hander is 4-2 on the year with a 2.76 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 66:20 K:BB across 12 starts (65.1 innings) this season.       Advice: Singer was making his first start since being unavailable due to illness. It didn’t go particularly well, as he needed 70 pitches to get 11 outs while allowing plenty of traffic throughout the contest. The 27-year-old still has a 2.76 ERA, and he has only given up more than two earned runs twice in his dozen starts. The Yankees are next, assuming Kansas City stays on scheduled with their rotation.       Yimi Garcia was credited with a save even after allowing two runs Thursday to the Orioles.

      Advice: Garcia was handed a three-run cushion, and he needed it. He allowed a two-run homer to Ryan O’Hearn, but was able to limit the damage to just that roundtripper while picking up his fourth save of the year.
