    • Tanner Houck dominates in victory over Tigers
Tanner Houck delivered a dominant performance in Friday night’s victory over the Tigers, allowing just one run on three hits over seven stellar innings.

Advice: The 27-year-old hurler racked up six strikeouts on the evening while issuing a pair of free passes. The lone tally against him came on an RBI single by Gio Urshela in the opening inning. After that, the Tigers never really threatened against him. Houck got 10 swings and misses on 95 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 32 percent. Now 5-5 on the season, he’ll carry an impressive 1.85 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and a 75/15 K/BB ratio (78 innings) into Thursday’s matchup against the White Sox in Chicago. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:42 pm
    • Absence continuing Friday
Westburg (hand) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Rays, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: The 24-year-old will miss a second straight game after being hit by a pitch on the right hand Tuesday against the Red Sox. Westburg had X-rays come back negative and should be considered day-to-day. Ramon Urias is starting at the hot corner Friday for Baltimore. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:52 pm

    • Diagnosed with sprained UCL
The Blue Jays placed Manoah on the 15-day injured list Friday, retroactive to May 30, with a right elbow sprain, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: Manoah has damage to his UCL and will receive a second opinion from Dr. Keith Meister next Thursday, per Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca. Season-ending surgery looks like a distinct possibility, but that decision should be made after next week's exam. Manoah has posted a 3.70 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 26:8 K:BB over 24.1 innings covering five starts with the Blue Jays this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:49 pm

Jordan Westburg (hand) is out of the Orioles’ lineup for Friday’s game against the Rays.

Advice: Westburg is out of the lineup for the second straight game. He was hit on the right hand by a pitch on Tuesday, missed Wednesday’s game and the Orioles were idle on Thursday. • Expects to be back when eligible
O'Neill (knee) said Friday that he expects to be activated from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Wednesday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: O'Neill was given a cortisone injection to combat inflammation in his right knee and said the shot has helped a lot. It would appear he's likely to skip a rehab assignment and return when his 10 days are up. O'Neill has just a .545 OPS and 43.9 percent strikeout in May after collecting a 1.127 OPS and 24.4 percent strikeout rate in April. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:43 pm

    • Back in action Friday
Alonso (hand) is playing first and batting second during Friday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Alonso was hit by a pitch Wednesday, but after a clean CT scan and a day off Thursday, the first baseman will rejoin the Mets' starting nine. Alonso owns a .771 OPS and has the third most homers among first basemen this season with 12. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:05 pm

    • Manoah expected to miss extended period
Alek Manoah (elbow) is expected to miss an extend period of time, according to TSN’s Scott Mitchell.

Advice: Manoah is headed for a second opinion on his elbow, according to TSN’s Scott Mitchell. It’s safe to say that the first opinion wasn’t, “What a fine elbow you have, Mr. Manoah.” The 26-year-old right-hander is safe to drop in leagues without injury spots as he’s expected to miss significant time. • Expected to miss significant time
Manoah will receive a second opinion on his injured right elbow, but the expectation is that he's going to be sidelined for an extended period of time, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.

Advice: Manoah was forced from his last outing Wednesday against the White Sox in the second inning due to discomfort in his pitching elbow. He underwent an MRI on Thursday, and it would appear the results of that exam were not favorable. Manoah has not yet been placed on the injured list, but that looks to be inevitable. Bowden Francis (forearm) is slated to return soon and is an option to take Manoah's rotation spot. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:34 am
