      Michael King struck out five over five shutout innings on Friday in a win over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: King received double-digit run support from San Diego’s offense and was able to cruise to a relatively easy win, scattering four hits and one walk over five spotless frames. The 29-year-old righty has been phenomenal of late, allowing three earned runs or fewer in six of his last seven starts since May 4. He’ll carry a sharp 3.58 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 83/32 K/BB ratio across 78 innings (14 appearances, 13 starts) into an extremely favorable matchup on Wednesday afternoon against the rebuilding Athletics.       Miller did not factor into the decision in Friday's 10-9 loss to Kansas City, allowing seven runs on six hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out one.

      Advice: Miller posted his worst start of the season, allowing nine baserunners and seven runs, each marking season worsts. The Seattle right-hander was cruising through three scoreless innings before allowing four runs in the fourth, rounded out by a three-run blast from MJ Melendez.       King (5-4) allowed four hits and one walk while striking out five over five scoreless innings to earn the win Friday over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: King wasn't all that efficient, needing 98 pitches (63 strikes) to get through five frames, but that's the only knock on his performance. He's been excellent over his last three starts, allowing just two runs on 11 hits and four walks with 16 strikeouts over his last 17 innings. King has a 3.58 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 83:32 K:BB through 78 innings across 14 appearances (13 starts).       Diaz went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Friday's 7-1 win over the Angels.

      Advice: Diaz opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning and added a two-run homer in the seventh. He's gone yard in four straight contests, an impressive run of power after he went 39 games without a homer prior to this surge. The catcher is at a .258/.285/.416 slash line, seven long balls, 32 RBI, 22 runs scored and 10 doubles over 56 contests. With Kyle Tucker (lower leg) going on the injured list Friday, Yordan Alvarez has seen more time in the field, giving the Astros the option of moving Diaz to designated hitter rather than having him at catcher full-time in the short term.       Advice: The win was Miller's first in the majors, which came in his 32nd career appearance. He kept the game tied at 1-1 in the top of the ninth inning before JJ Bleday swatted a walk-off solo home run in the Athletics' half of the frame. While Miller's been scored on in three of his last six outings, he's still sporting a 2.20 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 54:11 K:BB through 28.2 innings this season.       Bryce Miller gave up seven runs in five innings but didn’t factor in the decision against the Royals on Friday.

      Advice: Miller was handed an 8-0 lead, but he nearly gave it all back himself. The right-hander walked three while allowing eight hits — including a three-run homer to MJ Melendez — and he struck out just one in his worst start of the season.       Alexis Díaz recorded his 13th save despite giving up a run in the ninth Friday against the Cubs.

      Advice: After getting two well-hit lineouts to start the ninth, Díaz walked a batter and allowed an RBI double. He then struck out Patrick Wisdom to end the game with a 3-2 score.       Brice Turing went 4-for-5 with two runs scored, two RBI, a double and a stolen base against the Tigers on Friday.

      Advice: The save was Bednar’s 13th of the season. He blew three of his first four save opportunities this season, but since then he’s converted on 12 consecutive save chances.
