    • Hobbled Jurickson Profar pulled for pinch-runner
Jurickson Profar was lifted for a pinch-runner in the seventh inning Friday against the Brewers.

Advice: This probably wasn’t a move the Padres would have made unless Profar’s knee was acting up again. José Azocar ran for him in the game against the Brewers. Rotoworld Today, 9:36 pm

    • May have aggravated knee issue
Profar (knee) was removed for a pinch runner in the seventh inning of Friday's game against the Brewers, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Profar dealt with a knee injury earlier in June, and he didn't appear to be running at full strength to begin Friday's game. He was pulled six frames later, though the Padres could have been giving some additional maintenance time as a precaution. Rotowire.com Today, 9:19 pm

    • Bryson Stott sits against southpaw on Friday night
Bryson Stott is not in the Phillies’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: With left-hander Jordan Montgomery toeing the slab for the Diamondbacks, the Phillies will use it as an opportunity to give Stott a breather. Fellow left-handed hitters Brandon Marsh, David Dahl and Garrett Stubbs also find themselves on the pine for the start of this one. Edmundo Sosa will start in Stott’s place at second base and will bat sixth for the Phillies on Friday night. Rotoworld Today, 1:02 pm

    • Records 12th save
Phillips earned a save against the Rockies on Thursday, striking out two batters in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Phillips cruised to the save on 11 pitches, punching out two of the three batters he faced. It was the fifth straight scoreless and hitless outing for the closer, who has allowed an earned run in only two of his 21 appearances this season. Phillips is 12-for-12 in save chances this season -- he's the only MLB closer with that many saves who remains perfect in save opportunities. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:13 pm

    • Blows save, earns win
Fairbanks (2-3) blew a save but earned the win Thursday, allowing one run on two hits over two innings against the Twins. He struck out one.

Advice: Fairbanks was not needed to start the ninth due to the Rays holding a four-run lead, but a leadoff homer followed by the next two runners reaching base created a save situation. After inducing a couple of quick outs, Jose Miranda tagged Fairbanks for a game-tying homer that sent the game to extras. Once the Rays regained the lead in the 10th, Fairbanks stayed in to close out his own victory. The blown save was the second of the season for Fairbanks, who ran the gamut during the series with the Twins, suffering the loss Tuesday followed by the blown save and subsequent win Thursday. • Phillips picks up 12th save Thurday
Evan Phillips tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Rockies on Thursday.

Advice: Phillips’ save was his 12th of the year. He struck out two Rockies in the scoreless frame. Phillips hasn’t blown a save opportunity yet this year and his ERA is down to 1.80. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:26 pm

    • Pete Fairbanks (thumb) blows save, gets victory
Pete Fairbanks (thumb) blew a save while allowing a run against the Twins on Thursday, but worked two innings to get the victory.

Advice: Fairbanks entered the game with a couple of runners on and Tampa Bay holding a 6-3 cushion. He was able to get the first two outs, but then gave up a game-tying homer to Jose Miranda to blow the save. He was able to get the final three outs after the Rays scored in the 10th, however, so he gets the win. The right-hander missed a couple of days while dealing with a thumb injury, so the positive is he was back on the mound and does at least get a win. Fairbanks is still likely to see save chances going forward even with a fair share of clunkers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:28 pm

    • Nolan Arenado (elbow) not in Thursday’s lineup
Nolan Arenado (elbow) is not in the lineup for Thursday’s showdown against the Giants.

Advice: As expected, Arenado is sitting out Thursday’s series opener against the Giants after X-rays came back negative on is left elbow after being hit by a pitch during Wednesday’s game against the Marlins. He had previously said he hoped to return by Saturday, so the Cardinals will continue to give him a couple of days off. Brandon Crawford will start at third base on Thursday and bat seventh. • Sitting as expected
Arenado (elbow) isn't in the starting lineup Thursday against the Giants, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Advice: Arenado said Wednesday that he's aiming to return to the Cardinals' lineup Saturday, so his absence from Thursday's starting nine hardly comes as a surprise. Brandon Crawford will get the nod at the hot corner and bat seventh while Arenado continues to recover. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:49 am
