• Blows save Sunday
Foley was charged with the blown save Sunday against the Blue Jays, allowing three earned runs on two hits and one walk in 0.2 innings of work.

Advice: The right-hander was called upon with one out in the eighth inning and two runners on base. He allowed a single and a walk before Daulton Varsho took him deep to give the Blue Jays a two run lead. Despite the rocky appearance, Foley should remain the Tigers' closer for the time being. He is now 11-for-13 in save chances this season with a 3.54 ERA. Rotowire.com Today, 4:41 pm
  • Clarke Schmidt strikes out six in loss to Padres
Clarke Schmidt pitched well in a losing effort against the Padres on Sunday afternoon, giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits over his five-plus innings of work.

Advice: The right-hander racked up six strikeouts on the afternoon while issuing three free passes. All of the damage done against him came in the sixth inning, as Schmidt began the inning by allowing Manny Machado to reach on an error and then issuing a walk to Manny Machado. He then turned the ball over to the bullpen who allowed both inherited runners to score. Schmidt got 16 swinging strikes on 101 pitches on the day — 10 of those on his cutter — while posting a CSW of 28 percent. He’ll carry an outstanding 2.52 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and a 67/20 K/BB ratio (60 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Giants in San Francisco. Rotoworld Today, 4:10 pm
  • Tosses seven no-hit innings
Bradish (1-0) earned the win over the White Sox on Sunday, pitching seven no-hit and scoreless innings. He walked four and struck out 11.

Advice: The start of the game was delayed due to rain, but that didn't throw Bradish out of his rhythm. He threw 63 of 103 pitches for strikes while generating 13 whiffs. While the four walks were a season high for the right-hander, it's nothing to be concerned about given his overall dominance in the contest. He's now at a 1.75 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 34:11 K:BB through 25.2 innings across five starts this season. Bradish is projected to make his next start at home versus the Rays. Rotowire.com Today, 3:49 pm
  • Bradish overpowers White Sox in win on Sunday
Kyle Bradish threw seven shutout innings in a win over the White Sox on Sunday, walking four and striking out 11.

Advice: Bradish’s fastball velocity was down a bit, but he was still sitting 94.8 mph and induced 13 whiffs for a 31 percent whiff rate and 33 percent CSW. While he was also facing the White Sox, Bradish has looked every bit the pitcher we saw last year and now has a 1.75 ERA. He also has an elbow injury that has not been surgically repaired, so there will continue to be an aura of risk that surrounds him. Unless you’d prefer to trade him to avoid the headache, your only real chance is to keep starting him while he’s throwing this well and just hope he stays healthy. He should have another good start against the Rays next weekend. Rotoworld Today, 3:42 pm
  • Flirts with danger in save
Fairbanks allowed two hits and a walk in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Royals.

Advice: Fairbanks allowed back-to-back two-out singles to load the bases, but he got Bobby Witt on a groundout to end the threat. Despite the danger, Fairbanks turned in his seventh straight scoreless outing since returning from a nerve issue in his arm. He's allowed just four baserunners in that span. The 30-year-old has a 4.50 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, 18:9 K:BB and five saves over 14 innings this season. Rotowire.com Today, 2:15 pm
  • Peter Fairbanks holds on for the save
Peter Fairbanks earned the save on Sunday after allowing two hits and a walk in his one inning of work.

Advice: The Royals loaded the bases against Fairbanks who got Bobby Witt Jr. to ground out and end the game. Fairbanks didn’t get a single swing and miss but nailed down his fifth save all the same. Rotoworld Today, 2:00 pm
  • Jason Foley takes blown save in eighth inning
Jason Foley took a blown save after giving up three runs in the eighth Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Foley was called into a 9-6 game with two on and one out in the eighth. He quickly retired Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who had four hits on the day, but he went on to five up a two-run single to Bo Bichette, and after it looked like he might escape from there, he surrendered a three-run homer on an 0-2 pitch to Daulton Varsho. Foley’s stuff has declined since the beginning of the year, though this is just the second time it’s cost him. If he’s still the favorite for saves in Detroit for now, he’s definitely encouraged A.J. Hinch to ramp up the mixing and matching. At this point, no one else in the Tigers pen stands out enough to warrant a pickup in shallow leagues. Rotoworld Today, 12:27 pm
  • Getting Sunday off
Wong is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

Advice: Wong will rest in the series finale after he started at catcher in each of the previous three contests. Reese McGuire will check in for Wong behind the dish. Rotowire.com Today, 8:50 am
  • Shohei Ohtani (hamstring) in lineup Sunday vs. CIN
Shohei Ohtani (hamstring) is in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Reds.

Advice: Ohtani will get the start as he continues to play through the right hamstring contusion. The 29-year-old didn’t look at 100 percent while picking up a triple during Saturday’s contest, but it’s obviously a positive to see that he’s able to play through the issue. Rotoworld Today, 6:50 am
