• Hit hard Friday
Pfaadt (2-5) allowed five runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out five over 5.1 innings to take the loss versus the Padres on Friday.

Advice: Even in pitcher-friendly Petco Park, Pfaadt was tagged for a season-high three home runs. He gave up back-to-back solo shots to Fernando Tatis and Jurickson Profar in the first inning and also yielded a two-run blast to Ha-Seong Kim in the sixth. This was the third start in a row where Pfaadt has given up four or more runs. He's now at a 4.60 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 76:15 K:BB through 78.1 innings across 13 starts. The right-hander is projected to make his next start at home versus the Angels. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:46 pm
  • Camilo Doval perfect in earning save
Camilo Doval was perfect in the ninth for a save in a 5-2 game against the Rangers on Friday.

Advice: Doval was pitching for the first time since giving up four runs in a blown save and a loss to the Yankees on Sunday. He definitely hasn’t been as effective as he was last year, in large part because he’s walked 17 in 24 1/3 innings, but he is 10-for-12 in save chances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:38 pm
  • Goes eight innings in no-decision
Bassitt allowed a run on four hits and two walks while striking out seven over eight innings in a no-decision versus the Athletics on Friday.

Advice: Bassitt tamed one of his former teams, but reliever Chad Green gave up a walk-off hit in the ninth inning. In his longest outing of the year, Bassitt threw 71 of 102 pitches for strikes. He's limited opponents to one run or fewer in five of his 13 starts this season, pitching to a 3.80 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 70:28 K:BB through 73.1 innings. The 35-year-old right-hander is projected to make his next start at Milwaukee. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:37 pm
  • Secures save
Doval struck out one batter in a perfect inning to earn a save over the Rangers on Friday.

Advice: Doval fired 10 of 15 pitches to quickly retire the Ragners' 3-4-5 hitters in order and finish off the 5-2 win. It was his first appearance since coughing up four runs against the Yankees on June 2. Doval has now converted 10 of his 12 save chances and Friday was his first successful attempt since May 24. Doval lowered his season ERA to 4.07 through 24.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:56 pm
  • Cruz blasts ninth home run on Friday
Oneil Cruz went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run against the Twins on Friday.

Advice: The home run was Cruz’ ninth of the season and second in as many days. Prior to Thursday, he had gone 15 games without a home run and was hitting .180 in that stretch. He’s hitting .247 with a .744 OPS and 24 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:15 pm

  • Bednar picks up 13th save Friday
David Bednar tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Twins on Friday.

Advice: The save was Bednar’s 13th of the season. He blew three of his first four save opportunities this season, but since then he’s converted on 12 consecutive save chances. After a rough beginning to the season, he looks like one of the more reliable closers in the league. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:10 pm

  • Abner Uribe (knee) goes on minor league IL
Abner Uribe was placed on the IL at Triple-A Nashville because of a right knee injury.

Advice: The Brewers will know more after he has an MRI next week. Uribe opened the year as the Brewers’ primary closer, but he was sent down May 1 after amassing a 6.91 ERA in 14 1/3 innings. He allowed just one run but walked seven in 8 2/3 innings in Triple-A before getting hurt. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:08 pm

  • Jarred Kelenic (wrist) available off bench
Jarred Kelenic hit in cage prior to Friday’s game and is expected to be available off the bench against the Nationals.

Advice: Kelenic’s wrist must still be bothering him some or he’d be in the lineup against a right-hander tonight. Still, this is good news. Unfortunately, the Braves are facing lefties on both Saturday and Sunday, but Kelenic might start at least one of those games anyway. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:05 pm

  • Likely back Saturday
Kelenic (wrist) is likely to return to Atlanta's lineup Saturday versus the Nationals, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: Kelenic is missing a second straight start Friday after tweaking his right wrist on a diving catch Wednesday. However, he hit in the cage Friday and will be available to pinch hit. Barring any complications, Kelenic should be back in there for Saturday's contest. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:54 pm
