• Brandon Pfaadt strikes out eight, allows one run
Brandon Pfaadt struck out eight while limiting the Angels to one run in six innings to get a win Thursday.

Advice: Pfaadt did have some some control issues with three walks and 62-of-108 pitches landing for strikes, but he was able to work out of jams thanks to the punchouts. It’s a much improved effort from last weekend when he gave up nine hits and five runs against San Diego. Pfaadt has shown almost zero consistency in his MLB career — at least not in a positive way — but the stuff is here for him to be a successful fantasy option. His next chance for quality results comes next week against the Nats. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago
  • Drives in two in loss
Cruz went 1-for-4 with two RBI in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: The 25-year-old shortstop tied up the game with a two-run single off Lance Lynn in the fifth inning, but that finished the scoring for Pittsburgh. Cruz now has eight RBI over his last seven games, and his batting average in June is a solid .286. He will carry a .248/.300/.432 slash line with nine home runs and 28 RBI into a weekend series at Colorado. Rotowire.com Today, 4:01 pm

  • Multi-hit effort in loss
Langeliers went 2-for-5 with an RBI single in a loss to the Padres on Wednesday.

Advice: Langeliers laced a sixth-inning single that drove home Miguel Andujar and knotted the score at 2-2 at the time. The multi-hit effort was Langeliers' first since May 30, and it only served to push the backstop's average in June to a paltry .156 across 33 plate appearances. The poor first half of the month can largely be attributed to Langeliers' difficulties making consistent contact, as he sports a bloated 39.4 percent strikeout rate thus far this month. • Starting rehab assignment
Marsh (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Reading on Thursday.

Advice: Marsh has been working out with Reading in recent days and is ready to test out his strained right hamstring in a game setting. The outfielder shouldn't require too many rehab games before being activated since he just landed on the 10-day injured list June 3. A return early next week at the start of the Phillies' homestand seems like a sensible target for Marsh. Rotowire.com Today, 8:57 am

  • Brandon Marsh (hamstring) to begin rehab assignment
Brandon Marsh will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Reading on Thursday night.

Advice: It should be a brief minor league stint for Marsh, who is on the IL with a hamstring strain. He’s eligible to come off the injured list today and, barring a setback, will probably be activated this weekend. It will be interesting to see how the Phillies make room for him, given that David Dahl has been very impressive in his absence and has no options remaining. Sending down Weston Wilson would leave the Phillies short-handed in the infield, and releasing Whit Merrifield probably isn’t an option. Demoting Johan Rojas might be a possibility. • Swats homer No. 10
Olson went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Orioles.

Advice: The first baseman spoiled Baltimore's combined shutout bid by taking Keegan Akin deep in the eighth inning. Olson has hit safely in six straight games, and over his last 16 contests he's slashing .328/.385/.586 with three of his 10 homers on the season. Rotowire.com Today, 7:11 am

  • Getting looks at third base
Caballero went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Wednesday against the Cubs.

Advice: He has lost some playing time since the return of Taylor Walls but has still started four of the last six games. Caballero has made starts at second base, third base and shortstop and looks set to settle into a utility role for the Rays. The 27-year-old has also been productive of late, hitting two home runs and swiping three bags across his last 10 appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 6:51 am

  • Tagged with loss Wednesday
Buehler (1-4) allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk while striking out two over five innings, taking the loss Wednesday versus the Rangers.

Advice: Buehler gave up a three-run home run to Corey Seager in the fifth inning, and that ended up being the difference in this game. This was the sixth time in seven outings that Buehler has allowed at least three runs. He's likely still working on getting into a groove after an extended absence following his August 2022 Tommy John surgery. The right-hander has a 4.64 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 29:9 K:BB over 33 innings so far. He'll have a tough task in his next start, which is projected to be at Colorado. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:10 pm
  • Walker Buehler gives up three runs in loss
Walker Buehler allowed three runs -- two earned -- with two strikeouts over five innings in a loss to the Rangers on Wednesday.

Advice: Buehler had worked through four scoreless innings against the Rangers before serving up a three-run homer to Corey Seager to put Texas on top. Buehler scattered seven hits and one walk, striking out two batters. The 29-year-old right-hander has posted a 4.64 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, and a 29/9 K/BB ratio across 33 innings. He’s in line for a start against the Rockies in Colorado early next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:10 pm
