    Brandon Pfaadt struck out eight while limiting the Angels to one run in six innings to get a win Thursday.

    Advice: Pfaadt did have some some control issues with three walks and 62-of-108 pitches landing for strikes, but he was able to work out of jams thanks to the punchouts. It’s a much improved effort from last weekend when he gave up nine hits and five runs against San Diego. Pfaadt has shown almost zero consistency in his MLB career — at least not in a positive way — but the stuff is here for him to be a successful fantasy option.     Cruz went 1-for-4 with two RBI in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Cardinals.

    Advice: The 25-year-old shortstop tied up the game with a two-run single off Lance Lynn in the fifth inning, but that finished the scoring for Pittsburgh. Cruz now has eight RBI over his last seven games, and his batting average in June is a solid .286.     Langeliers went 2-for-5 with an RBI single in a loss to the Padres on Wednesday.

    Advice: Langeliers laced a sixth-inning single that drove home Miguel Andujar and knotted the score at 2-2 at the time. The multi-hit effort was Langeliers' first since May 30, and it only served to push the backstop's average in June to a paltry .156 across 33 plate appearances. The poor first half of the month can largely be attributed to Langeliers' difficulties making consistent contact, as he sports a bloated 39.4 percent strikeout rate thus far this month.     Advice: Marsh has been working out with Reading in recent days and is ready to test out his strained right hamstring in a game setting. The outfielder shouldn't require too many rehab games before being activated since he just landed on the 10-day injured list June 3.     Brandon Marsh will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Reading on Thursday night.

    Advice: It should be a brief minor league stint for Marsh, who is on the IL with a hamstring strain. He’s eligible to come off the injured list today and, barring a setback, will probably be activated this weekend. It will be interesting to see how the Phillies make room for him, given that David Dahl has been very impressive in his absence and has no options remaining. Sending down Weston Wilson would leave the Phillies short-handed in the infield, and releasing Whit Merrifield probably isn’t an option. Demoting Johan Rojas might be a possibility. This was the sixth time in seven outings that Buehler has allowed at least three runs. He's likely still working on getting into a groove after an extended absence following his August 2022 Tommy John surgery.
