    • Daulton Varsho back in lineup Saturday vs. Pirates
Daulton Varsho (illness) returned to the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Pirates.

Advice: Varsho is back in center field and batting second on Saturday after missing Friday’s 14-inning marathon due to food poisoning. Rotoworld 7 minutes ago

    • Breather Saturday
Diaz is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Twins.

Advice: Diaz will get a day off after he went 0-for-3 in Friday's 6-1 loss to Minnesota. Victor Caratini will handle the catching duties with Framber Valdez on the mound, batting ninth Saturday. Rotowire.com Today, 9:11 am

    • Continues hot hitting
Profar went 3-for-5 with two RBI in Friday's 11-8 victory versus the Royals.

Advice: Profar plated a run with a single in the sixth inning and added another RBI knock in the Padres' nine-run eighth. The veteran is working on a modest four-game hitting streak, during which he's gone 7-for-15 with a home run and five RBI. Profar's .330 batting average this season is second in the majors behind only teammate Luis Arraez (.342). Rotowire.com Today, 9:10 am

    • Hammered by Mets
Montgomery (3-3) yielded eight runs (six earned) on nine hits and three walks over four innings Friday, striking out four and taking a loss against the Mets.

Advice: Montgomery had a 3-0 lead before taking the mound Friday but quickly squandered it by coughing up four runs in the bottom of the first inning. He allowed another run in the second and three more in the fourth. After producing a pair of quality starts in his first two outings with Arizona, Montgomery has registered a rough 6.61 ERA over his last six starts. He now owns a 5.48 ERA with a lackluster 28:15 K:BB through 44.1 innings. Montgomery's next start is lined up to be at home against the Giants. Rotowire.com Today, 4:42 am
    • First to 20 homers in 2024
Judge went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Friday's 6-2 win over the Giants.

Advice: Judge ended May with a bang, earning his first multi-homer game of the year while reaching the 20-homer mark. He did a ton of damage to opposing pitchers this month, going 36-for-97 (.371) with 14 long balls, 12 doubles and 27 RBI over 28 contests. The slugger is up to a fantastic .282/.408/.648 slash line with 45 RBI, 40 runs scored and two stolen bases over 59 contests in 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:41 pm

    • Aaron Judge homers twice in win over Giants
Aaron Judge homered twice and drove in four runs in a 6-2 win for the Yankees over the Giants on Friday.

Advice: This getting ridiculous. Judge is now all alone in eighth place in Yankees’ history with 277 homers; passing Jorge Posada. The slugger also singled for a three-hit day, and he’s up to 20 homers on the season. The month of May has been extremely kind to Judge. It’s likely the other months will be good to the 32-year-old, as well. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:57 pm

    • Logs steal in win
Freeman went 2-for-4 with one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Friday's 7-1 win over the Nationals.

Advice: Freeman had been leading off over the last couple of weeks, but that should be done with Steven Kwan (hamstring) returning from the injured list Friday. Freeman was second in the order Friday against southpaw Patrick Corbin, but he'll likely bat lower against right-handers moving forward. Freeman's steal was his second in five games and his eighth of the campaign. He's still at a mediocre .223/.317/.354 slash line with four home runs, 22 RBI, 32 runs scored and 11 doubles over 203 plate appearances overall, but he's hit .295 (18-for-61) over his last 16 contests. • Yields three runs in no-decision
Cease did not factor into the decision in Friday's 11-8 win over the Royals, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Despite generating 16 whiffs out of his 98 total pitches, Cease managed to strike out only five, tying a season low also reached May 20 against Atlanta and April 27 against Philadelphia. The Padres ace was cruising through five innings, allowing just two baserunners; however, he unraveled in a 25-pitch sixth inning, allowing four baserunners and departing with just one out. Cease's ERA stands at 3.42 with 87:21 K:BB in 71 innings this season. He is tentatively slated to face the Angels on the road in his next start. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:14 pm

    • Dylan Cease surrenders three runs to Royals
Dylan Cease allowed three runs over 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Royals on Friday.

Advice: Cease was pretty great to begin the year, posting a 2.19 ERA in his first eight starts, but this makes four straight outings that have missed the quality-start threshold. On the plus side, his peripherals have remained pretty strong during the downturn. There isn’t much reason to think this will last. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:00 pm
