    Advice: It qualifies as a step in the right direction that Romano was able to resume throwing, albeit light catch, over the weekend, after being shut down last week due to renewed right elbow soreness. The 31-year-old veteran stopper is going to have to build up his throwing program basically from scratch again and is probably going to be out through the upcoming All-Star break.     Duran went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 7-6 walk-off win over the Blue Jays.

    Advice: Duran figured prominently in the come-from-behind win, in which Boston scored five times in the final two innings. Thanks to a miscommunication by Toronto's left side of the infield, his eighth-inning popup fell to the ground for a double followed by David Hamilton's two-run home run.   • Fernando Tatis Jr. (femur) out until second half
    Fernando Tatis Jr. expects to be sidelined until after the All-Star break because of his right femoral stress reaction.

    Jarren Duran went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, a double and an RBI against the Blue Jays on Monday.

    Advice: Duran capped off the Red Sox’ comeback with a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth that scored Ceddanne Rafaela.   • Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) shut down for a week
    The Dodgers are shutting down Clayton Kershaw for a week to address the soreness in his shoulder.

    Advice: An MRI detected nothing new in Kershaw’s surgically repaired shoulder. If the soreness clears up quickly, he still might rejoin the Dodgers not long after the break. If it continues to linger, the Dodgers might wait and try to aim for a September return. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:37 pm

    Padres placed OF Fernando Tatis Jr. on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 22, with a right femoral stress reaction.

    Advice: Tatis missed the last two games with a triceps injury after being hit in the left arm by a pitch Friday, and he will now be sidelined with a separate quadriceps injury. His stint on the IL would line up with a return in early July, but it's possible the 25-year-old will be held out longer than that until perhaps after the All-Star break, per Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune.     Kershaw will be shut down for at least one week after feeling soreness in his surgically repaired left shoulder during a bullpen session over the weekend, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

    Advice: Kershaw underwent an MRI, which didn't reveal any new damage to the shoulder, so the hope is that this is just a minor setback. He had been slated for his second rehab start Tuesday, but that will be delayed indefinitely.
