• Nails down another save
Finnegan picked up a save against the Dodgers on Monday, striking out one batter in a perfect inning.

Advice: Finnegan was staked to a two-run lead when he entered in the ninth inning, and he retired all three batters he faced to close out the contest. The right-hander is tied for the league lead with six saves on the campaign, and he's held the opponent without an earned run in all but one of his eight outings. Finnegan came into the season with a shaky hold on the closer role for the Nationals, but he appears to be firmly in control of ninth-inning duties for the time being given his success rate so far. • Grabs first win
Tate (1-0) allowed a hit over 1.1 scoreless innings to earn the win Monday over the Twins. He did not strike out or walk a batter.

Advice: Tate's usage so far has been versatile -- he's worked more than an inning twice over six appearances. Outside of allowing two runs (one earned) over one inning in his season debut March 28, Tate has been excellent. He's at a 1.29 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 4:4 K:BB through seven innings overall, though the lack of late-inning assignments is not helping his fantasy value, especially with lackluster strikeout numbers. • Looks good in big-league debut
Vanasco pitched two perfect innings in relief against the Nationals on Monday, striking out one batter.

Advice: Vanasco was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to the contest and entered in the eighth inning with Los Angeles down three runs. The right-hander ended up finishing the contest, throwing an efficient 14 of 20 pitches for strikes and retiring all six batters he faced. The Dodgers are opting for a bullen game Tuesday, per Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register, so there's a good chance Vanasco will be sent back down to the minors in short order to make room for a fresh arm. That said, his impressive major-league debut Monday should land him additional chances to pitch out of the big-league team's bullpen this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:38 pm

  • Picks up win
Herrin (1-0) walked one and struck out three over two hitless and scoreless innings to earn the win Monday over the Red Sox.

Advice: Xzavion Curry tossed five scoreless innings in his season debut, but the Guardians' offense didn't wake up until the seventh inning. Herrin ended up as the pitcher of record while accounting for half of the Cleveland bullpen's four scoreless frames. The southpaw has a 1.04 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 7:5 K:BB over 8.2 innings this season, while also earning one hold in eight appearances. Herrin gives the Guardians a multi-inning option, and while he's had a strong start to the year, the team's bullpen as a whole has been a strength, giving him little chance of moving into a high-leverage role. • Struggles with control in loss
Montas (2-2) took the loss against Seattle on Monday, allowing five runs on three hits and five walks while striking out one batter over two innings.

Advice: Much of Montas' troubles were self-inflicted, as he issued five free passes and threw just 34 of 66 pitches for strikes. It didn't help that he was hit hard when getting Mariners batters to swing -- two of the three hits against him left the park. Montas began the season looking great, going 2-0 and allowing just one run over 11.2 frames across his first two starts. However, he's faltered with two straight losses during which he's yielded 10 runs (eight earned) over seven innings. Montas will look to get back on track in his next start, which is tentatively lined up to come at home against the Angels this weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:08 pm

  • Kevin Ginkel blows save with wild pitch
Kevin Ginkel took his second blown save after giving up a run in the ninth Monday against the Cubs.

Advice: After a pair of singles, Ginkel uncorked a wild pitch that got far enough away from Gabriel Moreno to allow Nico Hoerner to score the tying run from second. Ginkel preserved the tie from there, and he’s been solid enough that he figures to remain the clear favorite for saves in Arizona while Paul Sewald is out. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:55 pm
  • Falls to 0-4
Stripling (0-4) took the loss against St. Louis on Monday, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four batters over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Though Stripling picked up his fourth straight loss to begin the campaign -- tied with Luis Castillo for most in the league -- he at least managed to improve upon the six-run, 11-hit performance he posted his previous time on the mound. The right-hander gave up a season-low six hits Monday and came one out away from a quality start, but he garnered only one run of support from Oakland's offense. Stripling has given the A's decent length this season by averaging nearly six innings per start, but he's well off the fantasy radar in standard leagues given his poor overall numbers. • Kyle Finnegan notches sixth save versus Dodgers
Kyle Finnegan was perfect in the ninth against the Dodgers on Monday, picking up his sixth save in the process.

Advice: Hunter Harvey has looked better than Finnegan for the most part this season, but he gave up a run in 1 1/3 innings tonight. Then again, he did face better competition than Finnegan, who was up against Gavin Lux and Taylor Trammell before getting Mookie Betts to ground out to end the game. Finnegan is tied for the MLB lead with six saves in seven chances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:23 pm
  • Notches fifth save
Helsley earned a save against the Athletics on Monday, striking out two batters in a perfect inning of work.

Advice: Helsley had no trouble slamming the door on Oakland in the bottom of the ninth frame, retiring the side on just 10 pitches, four of which were swinging strikes. After blowing his first save chance of the campaign against the Dodgers on March 30, the right-hander has been successful on each of his subsequent six attempts, and he's held the opponent scoreless in seven of his past eight outings. On the season, Helsley has an impressive 11:1 K:BB over nine innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:01 pm
