• Optioned to Toledo
The Tigers optioned Englert to Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.

Advice: Englert has given up three earned runs in six innings since coming up from Triple-A in late May, but he will now return to Toledo in order to make room for Shelby Miller (elbow), who was activated from the IL on Tuesday. Englert owns an impressive 2.35 ERA and 1.09 WHIP through 23 innings with the Mud Hens, and he could be the first choice to return to Detroit if the Tigers run into further depth problems in their bullpen. • Jakb Junis starting rehab assignment on Tuesday
Jakob Junis (shoulder, head) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Nashville.

Advice: Junis is going to need at least a handful of rehab outings to build up his stamina and pitch count, but he should be an option for the Brewers as extra starting pitching depth in a couple weeks. The 31-year-old suffered a head injury when he was hit by a ball during batting practice back in late April while on the injured list recovering from a shoulder impingement. Rotoworld Today, 2:44 pm

  • Beginning rehab outings
Junis (shoulder/head) will begin his minor-league rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Nashville, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Reports.

Advice: The righty has been on the shelf since April 6 due to a right shoulder impingement and had his return timeline pushed back further after he was stretchered off the field April 22 when he was struck in the head by a foul ball in batting practice. After resuming his throwing program a few weeks ago, Junis reported to the Brewers' spring complex in Arizona last week and checked out fine after facing hitters. He'll likely require multiple rehab outings to build up his pitch count and potentially put himself in consideration for a spot in Milwaukee's rotation. Rotowire.com Today, 2:41 pm

  • Throws bullpen session
Diaz (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Tuesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Diaz threw 21 pitches during his mound session, and manager Carlos Mendoza said afterward that there is a good chance the 30-year-old reliever begins a rehab assignment in the minors Thursday. It's unclear how many minor-league reps the Mets will give their star closer, but the fact Diaz is already able to begin an assignment likely signals that he will only require a minimum-length stint on the IL. • José Ureña starting Wednesday against Tigers
José Ureña will start on Wednesday against the Tigers.

Advice: Ureña gets the ball for Wednesday’s showdown at Globe Life Field after allowing four runs (two earned) over 2 1/3 innings last Friday against his former team in Miami. The 32-year-old is a non-factor for fantasy purposes, but he’s been an invaluable innings-eater this season for the defending World Series champions. Rotoworld Today, 2:28 pm

  • Edwin Díaz to start rehab assignment this week
Edwin Díaz (shoulder) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Thursday.

Advice: Díaz threw a bullpen session on Tuesday without any issues and the Mets are hoping to have one of their primary closing options back on June 11, when first eligible to return. The electrifying 30-year-old righty hit the injured list back in late May with a right shoulder impingement. He’s struggled this season, but remains arguably the best option for New York manager Carlos Mendoza moving forward over Adam Ottavino, Jake Diekman and Reed Garrett. Rotoworld Today, 2:23 pm

  • Albert Suárez to start Wednesday vs. Blue Jays
Albert Suárez will start on Wednesday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Suárez allowed one run over five innings last Friday against the division-rival Rays and will continue filling the void created by injuries to Kyle Bradish (elbow) and Dean Kremer (triceps). The 34-year-old is a tricky streaming option for fantasy managers given his lack of strikeout upside, but given Toronto’s persistent offensive struggles, he might be worthy of a gamble in deeper mixed leagues. • A’s activate Sean Newcomb on Tuesday for ’24 debut
Athletics activated LHP Sean Newcomb from the 60-day injured list.

Advice: Newcomb will be available in relief out of Oakland’s bullpen for Tuesday’s series opener against the Mariners. The 30-year-old southpaw underwent a pair of knee surgeries during the offseason and is expected to return in a relief role for Oakland. He’s several years removed from being one of the better pitching prospects in baseball with the Braves and is merely extra organizational depth at this stage in his career. He can be ignored in all fantasy formats at this juncture. Rotoworld Today, 2:16 pm

  • Reinstated from IL
The Athletics reinstated Newcomb (knee) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Newcomb has been on the injured list all season due to irritation in his left knee, but he has now been given the green light to return to Oakland's bullpen after making four rehab appearances. The 30-year-old southpaw gave up two earned runs in six innings during his assignment but will likely be given low-leverage opportunities as he gets used to facing big-league hitters once again. Brady Basso was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 2:08 pm
