    The Giants placed Luciano on the 10-day injured list Friday with a right hamstring strain, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

    Advice: Luciano made an early exit from Wednesday's game against the Phillies because of hamstring problems, and he will now officially be sidelined until at least June 10. Casey Schmitt was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move and will presumably work in the short side of a platoon with Brett Wisely while Luciano is out.     Tommy Edman (wrist) was able to take batting practice from the left side of the plate for the first time on Friday.

    Advice: Edman is already eligible to be activated from the 60-day injured list, but he’s still not close to being ready. The fact that he’s now able to face live pitching from both sides of the plate though is an encouraging sign and perhaps a minor league rehab assignment could be in the cards soon.
