      Advice: Morton had his swing-and-miss stuff working, racking up 22 whiffs among his 105 pitches. The veteran hurler fell behind by a run in the first inning but yielded only two hits while holding the Rays scoreless thereafter. This was a nice bounce-back for Morton after he surrendered five runs (four earned) over five innings against Washington in his previous start.       Bobby Witt Jr. stole a base while going 2-for-5 in a victory for the Royals over the Dodgers on Saturday.

      Advice: Witt Jr. also drove in a run with his single in the seventh, and it gave the Royals a 6-2 cushion. The star shortstop’s theft gives him 20 on the season, and there’s a good chance he’s going to pass the 49 swipes that he picked up in 2023.       Advice: Morton looked like his old self, striking out eight and walking two. He induced 22 whiffs on 49 swings for a ridiculous 45 percent whiff rate and 35 percent CSW.       Advice: Nimmo got the scoring going with an RBI double in the fourth inning and then tacked on an extra run with an RBI single in the eighth. However, an MRI revealed that Harris' strain is Grade 2, which likely indicates he'll be sidelined for more than the minimum 10 days.       Advice: If it wasn’t bad enough that the 23-year-old outfielder landed on the injured list with his hamstring strain, his MRI exam revealed it to be a more serious strain, which means that he’ll be sidelined for even longer. The Braves have yet to provide a timeline for his recovery, but it’s going to be longer than just a couple of weeks. Nine days later, it's now known that Bryant is also battling an oblique strain and a timeline for return hasn't been established.
