    • Taylor Ward (back) held out of lineup on Wednesday
Taylor Ward (back) was held out of the Angels’ starting lineup for Wednesday evening’s contest against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The 30-year-old slugger was pulled from Tuesday’s ballgame — as a precautionary measure — due to tightness in his lower back. He’s still considered day-to-day and there haven’t been any rumblings about him requiring a stint on the injured list. Kevin Pillar will start in his place and will bat third for the Halos against Slade Cecconi and the Diamondbacks on Wednesday night in Arizona. Rotoworld Wednesday, 3:30 pm

    • Activated, optioned to Triple-A
The Yankees reinstated Dominguez (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Wednesday and optioned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Advice: Dominguez has been on the injured list all season while recovering from a Tommy John procedure he underwent in September, and though he now appears to have made a full recovery, he will remain in Triple-A for now. The 21-year-old outfield prospect has played in 20 total games with three of New York's minor-league affiliates, slashing .368/.415/.658 with six home runs and 13 RBI in 82 plate appearances. If he continues at his current pace, a return to the majors is likely to come at some point, though he would have to compete against Alex Verdugo, Aaron Judge and Juan Soto for playing time in the Yankees' outfield. Jon Berti (calf) was transferred to the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 2:50 pm
    • Yankees activate and option Jasson Dominguez
Yankees activated OF Jasson Dominguez from the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Advice: No, unfortunately it’s not the promotion to the big league club that everyone has been waiting for. Time was up on Dominguez’s minor league rehab assignment though, so he needed to be activated from the injured list. The 21-year-old phenom has been obliterating the baseball in the minor leagues — slashing .368/.415/.658 with six homers, 13 RBI and a pair of swipes in his first 82 plate appearances. It’s only a matter of time. Rotoworld Wednesday, 2:43 pm
    • Stays red-hot
Judge went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an RBI single during Tuesday's 10-1 win over Kansas City.

Advice: Judge launched his fourth homer of his last three starts, plating Juan Soto on a two-run shot in the seventh inning. The center fielder has also generated multiple hits in four straight games and eight of his last 10 contests. Lost in the mix of his absurd power streak -- which has seen his ISO surpass .400 -- Judge is striking out at a 24.1 percent clip this season, which would be a career low if it stands. • Removed with back tightness
Ward was removed from Tuesday's game against Arizona due to lower-back tightness.

Advice: The Angels described Ward's removal as precautionary, so it's unlikely he's dealing with a serious injury. The 30-year-old outfielder had gone 2-for-2 with a solo home run, an RBI double and a walk before leaving in the eighth inning, and he's now slashing .253/.331/.452 with 12 homers and 36 RBI on the season. • Taylor Ward leaves game with lower back tightness
Taylor Ward left Tuesday’s game for precautionary purposes due to lower back tightness.

Advice: Ward was lifted for a pinch-hitter in the rout after homering, doubling and walking in three plate appearances. He’s day-to-day. If he can’t play Wednesday, then Kevin Pillar figures to get a start against a right-hander. Rotoworld Tuesday, 9:56 pm

    • Judge hits 25th homer as Yankees crush Royals
Aaron Judge went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Royals.

Advice: Judge got the Yankees on the board with a single in the first inning that scored Anthony Volpe from third, but his best hit of the night came on a 454-foot blast in the seventh inning that scored Juan Soto and increased the Yankees’ lead to 9-0. Judge’s 25th homer of the season currently leads the league, and he’s slashing an absurd .538/.667/1.192 with four homers and 14 RBI in June. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:56 pm

    • Bryan Reynolds triples to break end no-hit bid
Bryan Reynolds went 1-for-3 with a triple in the Pirates’ win over the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Advice: Reynolds broke up a no-hitter in the seventh inning when he hit a leadoff triple off Cardinals starter Miles Mikolas. His hit was just one of three the Pirates tallied on the evening, but it was enough to extend his hitting streak to nine games. Reynolds is now slashing .353/.405/.529 in June with one homer and five RBI. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:25 pm
    • Requires more rehab time
The Rockies elected not to activate Jones (knee/back) from the 10-day injured list Monday as previously planned, as the club determined that the outfielder needs more time in the minors to find his proper swing, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Before he was placed on the IL on April 30 with a low-back strain, Jones had gotten off to a disappointing start to the season, slashing just .170/.243/.277 with a 35.9 percent strikeout rate over 103 plate appearances. After starting up a rehab assignment in mid-May, Jones played in just three games before being shut down with a left knee injury, but he was cleared to report back to Triple-A Albuquerque on June 2. Though Jones hasn't reported any issues with his back or knee since returning to action, he's still hitting just .231 with a 36.7 percent strikeout rate in his seven games during the second rehab assignment. The Rockies likely want to see Jones find some success in the minors prior to activating him, so the 26-year-old could remain with Albuquerque through at least Thursday before the Rockies return home Friday to begin a series with the Pirates.
