    • Ranger Suarez leaves start with left hand contusion
      Ranger Suarez was pulled from Saturday’s start against the Cardinals after being hit in the left hand by a comebacker.

      Advice: For now, the Phillies are calling it a left-hand contusion, so it sounds like the 28-year-old southpaw was fortunate to have avoided any serious injury. Prior to exiting, he had worked two perfect innings with a pair of strikeouts. It doesn’t sound like his next start should be in jeopardy, but fantasy managers should pay close attention to his status over the next couple of days just to be on the safe side.     • Robert Gasser gives up two homers, three runs
      Robert Gasser gave up three runs in five innings while not factoring into the decision Saturday against the White Sox.

      Advice: Gasser gave up seven hits — two of those homers — while striking out three and not issuing a walk. It’s a bit of a disappointing effort considering how bad Chicago’s lineup is, but credit to the 25-year-old for limiting the damage to just the roundtrippers.       Gasser didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the White Sox, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out three in five innings.

      Advice: All three of the runs against Gasser came via the home-run ball Saturday -- an Andrew Benintendi solo shot in the third inning followed by a two-run blast off the bat of Gavin Sheets in the fourth. It's just the second time in five starts that Gasser's allowed more than one run. Overall, the left-hander is 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 16 strikeouts while issuing just one walk through his first 28 innings.       Suarez was removed from Saturday's game against the Cardinals with a left hand contusion after being struck by a 106.1 MPH comebacker in the second inning, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Suarez didn't allow a baserunner and struck out two hitters over two innings.

      Advice: Early reports indicate that Suarez is only dealing with a bruised throwing hand after being hit by a comebacker off the bat of Alec Burleson on Saturday. After Suarez's two perfect innings, Jose Ruiz will take over on the mound. The Phillies will likely continue to evaluate Suarez throughout the evening to ensure that the injury is merely a contusion and nothing long term.       Ha-Seong Kim doubled and tripled while driving in three runs in a victory over the Royals on Saturday.

      Advice: All three runs came on a double, and it gave the Padres a 6-3 lead. The triple showed off Kim’s impressive speed, and it was already the third three-bagger of the year.       Kim went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, three RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Royals.

      Advice: Kim led off the third inning with a triple before coming around to score on a Luis Arraez sacrifice fly. He'd then provide what proved to be the game-deciding hit in the fourth, driving in three runs with a base-clearing double to put the Padres ahead 5-3. Kim's now 4-for-10 with three extra-base hits in his last three games.       Marcell Ozuna went 2-for-5 with two runs scored, a home run and four RBI against the Athletics on Saturday.

      Reese Olson allowed five runs with five strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the Red Sox on Saturday.

      Advice: Olson surrendered a solo homer to Enmanuel Valdez in the second inning. Two base hits and a groundout would bring a second run in to score for Boston in the third. The Red Sox added a run in the fourth on a double and a sacrifice fly. Olson would pitch into the sixth before Valdez got to him again with a two-run blast. That would do it for the 24-year-old right-hander, ending his day with a 2.48 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and a 52/20 K/BB ratio across 61 2/3 innings.
