    • Power surge continues
Riley went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a second run scored in Sunday's loss to the Rays.

Advice: The third baseman erupted out of a slump to homer in three straight games against Tampa Bay, racking up six hits and eight RBI in the three-games weekend series. Even with the power surge, Riley has only six home runs and 28 RBI on the season, but he's topped 30 homers and 90 RBI in each of the past three seasons. The 27-year-old is capable of going on a tear that would have him back on his usual pace before the end of June. Rotowire.com Today, 8:35 am

    • Tagged with loss Sunday
Iglesias (0-1) took the loss Sunday against the Rays, giving up two runs on one hit and one walk in the ninth inning. He struck out three.

Advice: Atlanta rallied from a 6-2 deficit to tie the game in the eighth inning, but Iglesias served up a two-run homer to Jose Siri to squander the comeback. It's only the second long ball the veteran closer has allowed this season in 26.2 innings, and Iglesias sports a 2.70 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 20:6 K:BB while converting 18 of 20 save chances. • Clobbers pair of homers
Ohtani went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs during Sunday's 3-0 win over the Royals.

Advice: Ohtani teed off on Brady Singer, tagging the Royals' starter for solo homers in the third and sixth innings for Ohtani's second multi-homer game of 2024. The 29-year-old is now up to 19 home runs on the season, tied for fourth-most in MLB. Ohtani owns a .976 OPS through 278 plate appearances and is the only player in baseball with at least 15 homers and stolen bases. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:33 pm

    • Goes deep, swipes bag
De La Cruz went 2-for-3 with solo home run, a triple, three runs scored, a steal and two walks in Sunday's loss to the Brewers.

Advice: De La Cruz stuffed the stat sheet with a terrific performance Sunday, headlined by his solo homer in the eighth inning. He's up to 12 long balls with 36 steals this season. He went six straight games without a stolen base to begin the month but now has four over his last eight appearances. De La Cruz is slashing .235/.334/.438 with 47 runs scored and 25 extra-base hits through 71 games this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:47 pm

    • Camilo Doval has ugly outing in rout
Brought in with a 13-2 lead in the ninth, Camilo Doval was charged with four runs in one-third of an inning Sunday against the Angels.

Advice: Ouch. The Giants just wanted to get Doval some work after three days off, and he wound up allowing four hits and two walks. It’s the second time this month that he’s allowed four runs, though it wasn’t nearly as costly last time. He’s been fine, if not quite as good as last year, aside from those two outings, so his gig is safe. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:17 pm

    • Slugs grand slam
Varsho went 2-for-5 with a grand slam in Sunday's win versus Cleveland.

Advice: Varsho took Nick Sandlin deep in the fifth inning to record the third grand slam of his career. Varsho has enjoyed a nice start to the month of June, batting .277 with eight extra-base hits and two steals. On the season, the versatile 27-year-old is batting .220 with 11 home runs, 35 RBI, 40 runs scored and seven stolen bases across 67 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:12 pm

    • Continues stellar stretch
Mikolas (5-6) earned the win Sunday, allowing one run on four hits against the Cubs. He struck out five.

Advice: Mikolas held the Cubs scoreless through six, then was pulled following a one-out double by Ian Happ in the seventh. Happ later came around to score, but the Cardinals held the Cubs scoreless the rest of the way to secure the fifth win of the season for Mikolas. It was the second straight start Mikolas entered the seventh having allowed zero runs and the fifth straight quality start for Mikolas, who holds a 2.58 ERA and 0.73 WHIP over 31.1 innings during that stretch. The 35-year-old veteran will look to continue to turn back the clock in his next start, currently slated to take place next weekend when the Giants make their way to St. Louis. • Mediocre in victory
Berrios (6-5) picked up the win Sunday against Cleveland, allowing four earned runs on eight hits and zero walks while striking out one batter over six innings.

Advice: Berrios was one out away from recording his 12th quality start of the season, but Daniel Schneemann launched a two-run shot with two outs in the sixth, the only extra-base hit yielded by Berrios. Over his past 10 starts, the 30-year-old has allowed a home run in nine of them, recording a 4.32 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP across 60.1 innings in that span. Berrios will look to bounce back in his next start, currently scheduled for next weekend in Cleveland. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:05 pm
    • Shohei Ohtani homers twice in Dodgers’ win
Shohei Ohtani launched his 18th and 19th homers of the year Sunday off the Royals’ Brady Singer in a 3-0 win.

Advice: The Dodgers’ other run came on the second of back-to-back homers from Freddie Freeman in the sixth. Ohtani’s first homer today was crushed 451 feet to center. Ohtani had been slumping some of late, having come in at .216/.310/.412 in June. He’s still fifth in the majors in OPS (.976), sixth in average (.309), fourth in homers and tied for fifth in runs scored (53). Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:46 pm
