Reese Olson beats Guardians to earn fourth victory
Reese Olson picked up his fourth victory of the season on Wednesday night in Motown, limiting the Guardians to three runs on six hits over his six innings of work.
Advice: The 24-year-old hurler allowed just one base on balls while punching out three batters on the night. The Guardians scored a pair of runs against Olson in the third inning on a two-run double by Angel Martinez, then they tacked on another in the fourth on a solo blast by Daniel Schneemann. Olson generated 12 swings and misses on 95 pitches in the contest — six on his slider — while posting a CSW of 25 percent. He concludes a strong first half with a 4-8 record, 3.30 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and a 92/29 K/BB ratio over 101 innings in 18 starts.
