    • Chased in fifth inning
Assad (4-3) allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk while failing to record a strikeout over 4.1 innings, taking the loss Sunday versus the Mets.

Advice: Assad has failed to complete five innings in four of his last nine starts. The Mets did most of their damage in the third inning, as Francisco Lindor and Brandon Nimmo hit back-to-back home runs to account for three of the four runs on Assad's line. The right-hander is now at a 3.04 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 79:33 K:BB through 83 innings across 16 starts this year. He's projected for a road game in Milwaukee in his next start. • Lifts seventh homer
Vientos went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Vientos has two homers over his last four contests after going deep in the eighth inning Sunday. The third baseman is up to seven long balls, 18 RBI, 19 runs scored, six doubles and no stolen bases while slashing .289/.344/.526 over 125 plate appearances. Vientos has been operating in a starting role at the hot corner since Brett Baty was demoted to Triple-A Syracuse at the end of May. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:25 pm

    • Homer, steal in win
Lindor went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, a hit-by-pitch and a stolen base in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Lindor opened the scoring with his third-inning blast. The shortstop has been showcasing all of his skills in June, going 21-for-76 (.276) with four homers, five steals and 10 RBI over 19 contests this month. It's a strong turnaround for the 30-year-old, who is slashing .241/.310/.433 with 13 homers, 39 RBI, 49 runs scored, 20 doubles and 13 steals through 76 games overall. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:16 pm
    • Strikes out 10 in win
Severino (5-2) allowed three hits and struck out 10 without walking a batter over six scoreless innings to earn the win Sunday over the Cubs.

Advice: Severino was dealing, making a great rebound after getting touched up for six runs versus the Rangers in his last start. He's posted a quality start in four of his last six outings, allowing 14 runs (13 earned) with a 27:8 K:BB across 38.2 innings in that span. The right-hander is at a 3.29 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 71:31 K:BB through 90.1 innings across 15 starts, with Sunday's start being the fourth time he's avoided issuing a walk this season. Severino is projected to make his next start at home versus the Astros. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:05 pm
    • Francisco Lindor homers, swipes bag to lead Mets
Francisco Lindor clobbered a two-run homer and stole a base on Sunday night, helping to lead the Mets to a 5-2 victory over the Cubs in Chicago.

Advice: Lindor opened the scoring in the ballgame with a 378-foot (101.4 mph EV) two-run blast after an eight-pitch battle with Javier Assad in the third inning. He was also hit by a pitch in the fifth inning and swiped second base before getting stranded at third. The 30-year-old shortstop finished the evening 1-for-4 and is now hitting .241/.310/.433 with 13 homers, 39 RBI and 13 stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:22 pm
    • Mark Vientos launches solo homer as Mets roll
Mark Vientos smashed his seventh home run of the season on Sunday night as the Mets took care of business against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

Advice: The 24-year-old third baseman demolished a 451-foot (109.3 mph EV) solo shot off of Tyson Miller in the eighth inning that extended the Mets’ lead to 5-2. That would be his lone hit in four at-bats on the night. For the season, he’s hitting a healthy .289/.344/.526 with seven homers and 18 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:22 pm

    • Luis Severino dominates in victory over Cubs
Luis Severino delivered a dominant performance in Sunday night’s victory over the Cubs, piling up 10 strikeouts over six innings of shutout baseball.

Advice: The right-hander allowed just three hits on the night — all of them singles — and didn’t walk a batter. Severino generated 14 swings and misses on 102 pitches in the ballgame — seven of those on his heater which averaged 96.8 mph in the contest — while posting a CSW of 28 percent. Now 5-2 on the season, Severino will carry a 3.29 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and a 71/31 K/BB ratio (90 1/3 innings) into Sunday’s showdown against the Astros. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:21 pm
    • Javier Assad gives up four runs in loss to Mets
Javier Assad wasn’t at his best in Sunday’s loss to the Mets, surrendering four runs on seven hits across his 4 1/3 innings of work.

Advice: Assad walked one batter on the evening and did not record a single strikeout. Most of the damage done against him came via the long ball, as Francisco Lindor crushed a two-run homer in the third inning and Brandon Nimmo followed with a solo shot. The Mets also scratched out a run while chasing Assad in the fifth. Assad got just three swings and misses on 90 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 26 percent. He’ll attempt to bounce back as he carries a 3.04 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and a 79/33 K/BB ratio (83 innings) into Friday’s battle against the Brewers in Milwaukee. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:21 pm

    • Ejected, faces 10-game ban
Diaz was ejected from Sunday's game against the Cubs for the use of an illegal substance following an inspection from the crew chief, Pat Ragazzo of SI.com reports.

Advice: Diaz failed the "sticky substance" check upon entering the game in the bottom of the ninth inning with the Mets up 5-2. If MLB concurs with the crew chief's assessment, Diaz will receive an automatic 10-game suspension, so the Mets may be without their closer for some time. Expect a decision on a suspension to be announced before the Mets' next game Tuesday versus the Yankees. Reed Garrett and Adam Ottavino would likely be first in line for saves should Diaz receive a 10-game ban and choose not to appeal. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:13 pm
