    • Dylan Cease strikes out eight in win over A’s
Dylan Cease won for the first time in a month after holding the A’s to one run in six innings on Monday.

Advice: Cease surrendered eight hits, but only Tyler Soderstrom’s homer in the second did any damage. He struck out eight and walked one in moving to 6-5 with a 3.36 ERA. The eight strikeouts gave him 101 for the season, making him the third pitcher this year, after Tyler Glasnow and Garrett Crochet, to reach the century mark. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:31 pm

    • Tallies three hits Monday
Merrill went 3-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI in Monday's 6-1 victory over the Athletics.

Advice: The bottom third of San Diego's order produced half of the team's 10 hits, with Merrill's three knocks leading the way. The exciting young outfielder extended his current hitting streak to six games, and he's batting .391 (9-for-23) over that stretch. Merrill is holding his own in his rookie campaign, slashing .281/.316/.367 with three homers, 24 RBI, 26 runs and nine stolen bases through 236 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:56 pm

    • Extends hitting streak to 16 games
Tatis went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Monday's 6-1 victory versus the Athletics.

Advice: Tatis belted a solo shot in the fifth inning to give San Diego a 3-1 lead and extend his personal hitting streak to 16 games. The long ball was his third in his past four contests and his fifth during the streak. Tatis is batting a superb .394 across the 16 games with nine RBI, 12 runs and a stolen base. • Splendid in victory Monday
Cease (6-5) earned the win over Oakland on Monday, allowing one run on eight hits and one walk while striking out eight batters over six innings.

Advice: Cease surrendered a solo homer to Tyler Soderstrom in the second inning, but that was the only run the A's managed to score against him. The right-handed hurler racked up 15 whiffs among his 104 pitches and gave up fewer than three runs for the first time since May 8. Cease entered Monday with a 5.86 ERA over his previous five starts, and he went 0-3 during that span. However, he still holds a solid 3.36 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 101:23 K:BB over 83 innings on the season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:23 pm

    • Manny Machado (hip) rejoins Padres lineup as DH
Manny Machado is in the lineup as a DH for Monday’s game against the A’s.

Advice: Machado missed four starts after hurting his hip Wednesday. He’s batting fifth tonight, with Jurickson Profar remaining in the third spot. Machado has moved around the middle of the Padres lineup some this season, but he did hit third in the three games preceding his injury. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:45 pm

    • Returning to lineup Monday
Padres manager Mike Shildt said in an interview on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM that Machado (hip) will be back in the lineup Monday versus the Athletics as the team's designated hitter.

Advice: Machado was held out of the lineup for the previous four games due to a strained right hip flexor, although he was able to pinch hit once over that stretch. He will be eased back into the mix Monday as the club's DH, with a return to third base coming "hopefully sooner than later," per Shildt. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:04 pm

    • Swats another homer in loss
Tatis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Tatis extended his hitting streak to 15 games with a solo blast to center in the first inning and would go quiet the rest of the afternoon. The hit streak is a new career high for him and also the longest active streak in baseball. Over that span, he's hitting .410/.463/.672 with four homers, eight RBI, 11 runs and a 4:8 BB:K over 67 plate appearances. He's raised his batting average nearly 40 points since the streak began and now holds a slash line of .281/.359/.467 with a team-high 12 home runs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:00 am
    • Swipes two bags
Happ went 1-for-3 with a double, three RBI, two walks and two stolen bases in Sunday's 4-2 win over Cincinnati.

Advice: Happ slugged a bases-clearing double in the first inning and stole multiple bases for the first time this season. The switch-hitting Happ has now collected three steals over his past five games, upping his season total to five. If Happ can continue his recent success on the basepaths, his fantasy value will receive a tremendous boost. On the season, the 29-year-old is batting .222 with six home runs, 30 RBI, 31 runs scored and five stolen bases across 258 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Sunday, 4:51 pm

    • Yields HR in non-save appearance
Clase allowed a solo home run and struck out one during the ninth inning of Sunday's 6-3 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Clase took the mound in the ninth inning despite the Guardians owning a four-run lead, and he surrendered a two-out solo homer to Jake Burger during the outing. Due to the score, Clase wasn't eligible for a save, though the Guardians opted to give him his first game action since Tuesday. Burger's long ball was Clase's first earned run allowed since April 14, which spans 24 appearances. Rotowire.com Sunday, 3:28 pm
