    • Set to throw Tuesday
Verlander (neck) will throw from the main mound at Minute Maid Park on Tuesday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Manager Joe Espada said that Verlander will face hitters to simulate game action, but the hitters have been instructed not to swing. It is not clear how many pitches Verlander will throw, though he threw over 50 in his last bullpen session Saturday. Rotowire.com Today, 8:52 am

    • Keeps slugging Monday
Ozuna went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Brewers.

Advice: He opened the scoring in the game by taking Colin Rea deep in the fourth inning. Ozuna has homered in three of the last four games, boosting his total on the season to 31, and over the last 15 games he's slashing a blistering .382/.452/.818 with eight home runs, 10 RBI and 13 runs. • Knocks in three runs Monday
Soto went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs and three RBI in Monday's 14-4 thrashing of Philadelphia.

Advice: Though Soto didn't get in on the six homers New York racked up in the victory, he collected the team's only two doubles and was one of three Yankees with three RBI. The slugger has at least three hits on 11 occasions this season and has knocked in at least three runs 12 times. Soto has tallied 10 multi-hit performances over his past 15 games and is slashing .406/.479/.859 with six home runs, 14 RBI, 16 runs and a stolen base over that span. • Gets lots of run support in victory
Gil (11-5) earned the win over Philadelphia on Monday, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out eight batters over 5.1 innings.

Advice: Gil was given a 3-0 lead after two frames, and despite allowing a run in each of the third and fourth innings, he cruised to his 11th victory of the season as the Yankees offense piled on 14 runs by the end of the contest. The right-hander tallied 14 swinging strikes en route to eight punchouts and gave up just one extra-base hit (a solo homer). Gil's three-game streak of allowing just one run came to an end, but he did pick up his second with over his past three starts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:42 pm

    • Takes no-decision versus Astros
Skenes allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out six over six innings in a no-decision versus the Astros on Monday.

Advice: The three walks were a season high for Skenes, who wasn't as quite in the zone as he has been for the better part of the last two months. The 22-year-old still recorded his eighth straight quality start. Skenes is at a 1.90 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 103:16 K:BB through 80.2 innings over 13 starts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:29 pm
    • Homers again Monday
Ozuna went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 8-3 loss to Milwaukee.

Advice: Ozuna has homered in three of the last four games, and he's hit 10 long balls over 23 contests in July. The designated hitter is up to 31 homers, 83 RBI, 66 runs scored, 20 doubles and a .306/.384/.596 slash line through 105 games this season. Atlanta's trade for Jorge Soler from San Francisco on Monday shouldn't have much of an effect on Ozuna, as Soler will likely be the one to pick up playing time in the outfield. • Picks up 23rd steal
Duran went 2-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI, a steal and two runs scored in Monday's 14-7 win over the Mariners.

Advice: Duran recorded his first stolen base since the All-Star break, and his 23rd steal ties him for ninth most in MLB this season. The 2024 All-Star has picked up right where he left off in the first half, hitting. 356 in 10 games since the break. Duran has nine multi-hit games in his last 15 games and has seen his slash line climb to .291/.350/.508 for the campaign. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:45 pm

    • Snags 19th save
Yates earned the save in Monday's 6-3 victory over the Cardinals, pitching a clean inning with one strikeout.

Advice: The veteran reliever faced the 5-6-7 hitters in the Cardinals lineup, retiring them in order on 19 pitches to secure his 81st career save. Yates has been especially stingy in July so far, firing a 1.80 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 15:4 K:BB across 10 innings. The Texas All-Star has enjoyed a renaissance season, now sporting a 1.17 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 53:18 K:BB over 38.1 innings while going a perfect 19-for-19 in save chances. • Kirby Yates locks down save against Cardinals
Kirby Yates hurled a scoreless ninth to get a save against the Cardinals on Monday.

Advice: Yates is now up to 19 saves on the season. The right-hander threw 14-of-19 pitches for strikes, and his ERA is a glowing 1.17 for the 2024 season. Yates could be moved before the deadline, and it seems likely that the team acquiring him would keep him in the closing role. Not a lock, however, so keep it in mind. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:17 pm
