Crawford allowed five runs on eight hits and struck out five over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Yankees on Saturday. He did not walk a batter.

Advice: Crawford has avoided issuing a walk in four of his last five outings, but it didn't lead to success in this start. He gave up home runs to Juan Soto, Aaron Judge and Oswaldo Cabrera the first time through the order. Crawford has given up five or more earned runs in each of his last two starts after a streak of six games where he permitted no more than three earned runs. He's at a 3.60 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 117:29 K:BB through 122.1 innings over 21 starts this season. The right-hander is projected to make his next start on the road versus the Rangers. • Kutter Crawford allows three homers to Yankees
Kutter Crawford surrendered five runs over 4 2/3 innings on Saturday in a no-decision against the Yankees.

Advice: Crawford was burned by the long ball for the second consecutive outing as he surrendered three round-trippers and has been tagged for an astounding eight round-trippers over his last 9 2/3 innings of work. The only positive takeaway here is that he struck out five and didn’t hand out a free pass. The 28-year-old righty will carry a respectable 3.60 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 117/29 K/BB ratio across 122 1/3 innings (21 starts) into a road tilt on Friday against the Rangers. • Yankees officially add Jazz Chisholm Jr. from Fish
Yankees acquired OF Jazz Chisholm Jr. from the Marlins for C Agustin Ramirez, INF Abrahan Ramirez and INF Jared Serna.

Advice: The dynamic 26-year-old superstar is a tremendous get for the Yankees and should really bolster their offensive attack over the final two months of the regular season and into the playoffs — especially in the hitter-friendly confines of Yankee Stadium. Expect Chisholm to jump right in as the Bombers’ leadoff hitter, which will lead to ample opportunities for runs scored with the improved supporting cast around him. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:58 pm
    • Traded to Yankees
The Marlins traded Chisholm to the Yankees on Saturday in exchange for Agustin Ramirez, Jared Serna and Abrahan Ramirez, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The addition of Chisholm gives the Yankees another left-handed bat with speed, as he's recorded 22 stolen bases this season, eight of which have come in July. It's unclear exactly how he will fit into the lineup, but it could mean that Alex Verdugo is the odd man out of an outfield made up of Chisholm, Aaron Judge and Juan Soto, especially with Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) targeting a return Monday. Chisholm has also seen time at second base this season, and he could perhaps take over the primary role there from Gleyber Torres. For the season, Chisholm is slashing .249/.323/.407 with 14 doubles, 13 home runs and 50 RBI across 430 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:01 pm
    • Blockbuster: Yankees acquiring Jazz Chisholm Jr.
ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports the Yankees are finalizing a trade with the Marlins for outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr.

Advice: This certainly qualifies as a blockbuster as Chisholm, who won’t reach free agency until after the 2026 campaign, is heading to New York in exchange for three players, including top prospect Agustin Ramirez, who has posted an .862 OPS with 20 homers and 18 steals this season between Double-A Somerset and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The electrifying 26-year-old outfielder, who figures to move back to the infielder for New York, will inject some much-needed life as a top-of-the-order spark plug for a lifeless Yankees’ lineup. It’s a fascinating trade from a variety of standpoints, but it’s unquestionably a positive development for Chisholm’s immediate and long-term fantasy outlook that he’s headed to hitter-friendly Yankee Stadium to join a star-studded supporting cast. • Mish: Yankees deep in talks for Jazz Chisholm Jr.
The Miami Herald’s Craig Mish reports the Yankees are deep in talks with the Marlins on a trade to acquire outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr.

Advice: Here we go. Mish adds that it’ll be three prospects coming back to Miami in a potential deal. It’s not across the finish line yet, but it certainly sounds like a deal could come together quickly over the next few hours. Stay tuned. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:47 pm
    • Transferred to 60-day IL
The Blue Jays transferred Romano (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Advice: Romano landed on the 15-day injured list June 1 due to right elbow inflammation. He was shut down from throwing twice after landing on the IL, and he eventually underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair an impingement in his throwing elbow July 3. Romano still has a ways to go before throwing again, and it's unclear whether he will return to major-league action by the end of the season. With Yimi Garcia traded to Seattle on Friday, Chad Green appears set to continue serving as Toronto's primary closer. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:16 pm

    • Blue Jays transfer Jordan Romano to 60-day IL
Blue Jays transferred RHP Jordan Romano to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: Romano will be shut down from throwing until at least mid-August after undergoing arthroscopic surgery earlier this month to repair a right elbow impingement. With Toronto in the midst of a full-scale teardown, there’s little incentive to rush him back for a handful of outings at the end of a lost season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:11 pm

    • Swipes 22nd bag
Chisholm went 1-for-3 with two walks, two runs scored and a stolen base in Friday's win over the Brewers.

Advice: The 26-year-old has been taking his leadoff duties seriously in July. Chisholm is batting just .198 (16-for-81) on the month, but he's drawn 12 free passes in 20 games and his 12.8 percent walk rate during that time is a significant jump from his career rate of 7.7 percent. The extra opportunities on the basepaths have also translated into fantasy production -- he's gone 8-for-9 on steal attempts in July, giving Chisholm 22 stolen bases in 101 games on the season and putting him one short of matching his career high.
