    • Drives in two in win
Canha went 1-for-2 with a walk and two RBI in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Twins.

Advice: Canha batted cleanup and helped lead Detroit to a comfortable win. The veteran has been solid lately, as he's batting .310 over his last 10 games with one home run, five RBI and six runs scored. Canha is a potential trade candidate before Tuesday's deadline, as he's on the last year of his contract, and he would give a contending team a proven MLB hitter who batted .260 or better each of the last two seasons, though he's slumped a bit this year with a .233 average overall. • Tyler Fitzgerald homers again, Giants top Rockies
Tyler Fitzgerald clobbered a solo home run to lead the Giants to a 5-0 victory over the Rockies in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader at Oracle Park.

Advice: Fitzgerald went 1-for-4 without a round-tripper in the opening contest of Saturday’s doubleheader at Oracle Park, and was hitless through three at-bats during the nightcap affair before taking Rockies veteran reliever John Curtiss deep in the eighth inning for his eighth big fly in his last 10 games since July 9. The unheralded 26-year-old rookie has unexpectedly emerged as a legitimate contributor for fantasy managers over the last few weeks, batting .438 (14-for-32) with seven homers and 12 RBI in nine games since the All-Star break. This stratospheric level of over-the-fence pop isn’t sustainable for anyone long-term, but Fitzgerald has proven that he deserves an everyday opportunity with the Giants moving forward. He should be rostered in all fantasy formats until further notice, especially if he’s going to continue this surreal hot streak. Rotoworld Today, 3:25 am

    • Picks up eighth win
Irvin (8-8) allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out five over 5.1 innings to earn the win over the Cardinals on Saturday.

Advice: The two runs on his line came on a Willson Contreras home run in the sixth inning, but the Nationals had already established a large lead. Irvin has allowed four runs over 12.1 innings across two starts since the All-Star break after struggling in his last two outings prior to the intermission. He's now at a 3.44 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 111:30 K:BB through 128.1 innings over 22 starts this season. Irvin's next outing is projected to be at home versus the Brewers. • Juan Yepez plates three runs in lopsided victory
Juan Yepez went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI in a lopsided victory over the Cardinals on Saturday evening in St. Louis.

Advice: Yepez delivered a two-run single as part of a seven-run rally in the sixth inning, then scored on Keibert Ruiz’s three-run blast. He also capped off the scoring for the Nationals with a run-scoring double in the seventh inning that made it a 10-2 ballgame. All Yepez has done is hit since being recalled from Triple-A, slashing .382/.434/.618 with a pair of homers, 13 RBI and a stolen base through his first 76 plate appearances. • Jake Irvin strong again in victory over Cardinals
Jake Irvin delivered another strong performance in Saturday night’s victory over the Cardinals, surrendering just two runs on four hits across his 5 1/3 frames.

Advice: Irvin piled up five strikeouts on the night while allowing only one base on balls. All of the damage done against him came on the final batter that he faced as Willson Contreras walloped a two-run homer over the center field wall. Irvin generated 10 swings and misses on 96 pitches on the night — seven on his heater — while posting a CSW of 25 percent. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling as he totes a 3.44 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and a 111/30 K/BB ratio (128 1/3 innings) into Friday’s showdown against the Brewers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:31 pm

    • Falls just shy of quality start
Imanaga allowed three runs on six hits and no walks while striking out three batters over 5.2 innings in a no-decision against Kansas City on Saturday.

Advice: Imanaga yielded a solo homer to Hunter Renfroe in the second inning but entered the sixth with a three-run lead. However, he couldn't get out of that frame, as the Royals got to him for three hits, including a Bobby Witt run-scoring double. Another run crossed the plate after Imanaga's departure, and he had a streak of four straight quality starts snapped. The rookie right-hander carries a 2.95 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 111:17 K:BB along with an 8-2 record through 19 appearances covering 109.2 innings on the campaign. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:40 pm

    • Fans eight in tough loss
Ryan (6-7) allowed three runs on four hits and one walk while striking out eight over six innings Saturday, taking the loss versus the Tigers.

Advice: Ryan took a 2-1 lead into the sixth inning but couldn't hold it as he allowed the go-ahead runs to score and ended up being tagged with the loss. Ryan has allowed three or more runs in four straight starts, but despite the low win total, he continues to make up for it with solid strikeout numbers. The 28-year-old has five or more strikeouts in nine straight starts, and his 138 punchouts this season are tied for ninth most in MLB. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:31 pm

    • Imanaga gets no-decision against Royals Saturday
Shota Imanaga allowed three runs in 5 2/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Cubs’ 9-4 victory over the Royals on Saturday.

Advice: Imanaga allowed six hits, walked none and struck out three. He was one out shy of posting his fifth quality start in a row. Imanaga didn’t get the win, but in 19 starts he has only two losses and he allowed seven and 10 runs in those games. He has a 2.95 ERA on the season. The 30-year-old left-hander is set to face the Cardinals at home next week.

    • Ryan strikes out eight in loss to Tigers Saturday
Joe Ryan allowed three runs in six innings and took the loss against the Tigers on Saturday.

Advice: Ryan gave up four hits, walked one and struck out eight. Ryan was staked to a slim 2-1 lead in the sixth inning, but allowed a single to Matt Vierling and a game-tying triple to Colt Keith. It was the third time in his last five starts that he struck out at least eight batters. Ryan has a 3.69 ERA on the season. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the White Sox at home next week.
