The 28-year-old slugger returned earlier this week from the injured list following a nine-game absence due to right knee inflammation. He told reporters afterwards that he’s hopeful this latest incident won’t require another trip to the injured list, but it’s a concerning development that he’s still having knee issues.       Advice: Witt's triple was his seventh of the year, putting him second in the majors behind Boston's Jarren Duran (nine). It was a timely three-bagger for Witt, as it tied the game in the ninth inning, and he went home as the winning run on a Nelson Velazquez fielder's choice. This was Witt's third three-hit effort in his last six games. He's up to a .323/.375/.568 slash line with 11 home runs, 47 RBI, 56 runs scored and 19 stolen bases over 64 contests this season.       Advice: Crochet gave up a pair of runs in the third inning but only one was earned due to his own throwing error. He's produced quality starts in four straight appearances and six of his last seven. Crochet generated 17 whiffs and racked up double-digit strikeouts for the fourth time this season. Since April 29, he's produced a ridiculous 1.37 ERA with a 63:9 K:BB in eight starts. Crochet will carry a 3.33 ERA into his next start, which is expected to be in Seattle next week.       Garrett Crochet yielded two runs — one earned — and struck out 10 in six innings as the White Sox defeated the Red Sox 7-2 to snap a 14-game losing streak.

      Advice: The White Sox’s previous win also, not coincidentally, came in a Crochet start on May 21. He has six of the White Sox’s 16 victories on the year.       Bobby WItt Jr. went 3-for-5 with an RBI triple to help the Royals to a 10-9 win over the Mariners on Friday.

      Advice: Superstar gonna superstar. With the Royals trailing 9-8, Witt Jr. spanked a triple down the left-field line to score the tying run, and he scored on a fielder’s choice to give Kansas City the win in a game they trailed 7-0 after the top half of the first inning.     • Sale strikes out 10 in loss to Nationals Friday
      Chris Sale allowed two runs in seven innings and took the loss against the Nationals on Friday.

      Advice: Sale gave up five hits, walked one and struck out 10. It was an impressive bounce back performance after he allowed eight runs in his last start. Sale has been tremendous at times this season. While he has a 3.01 ERA on the year, his xFIP is even better at 2.43. The 35-year-old left-hander is set to face the Orioles on the road next week.       Sale (8-2) took the loss Friday against the Nationals, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out 10.

      Advice: It was a strong bounce-back effort from Sale after he surrendered eight runs against Oakland in his last start. However, Atlanta couldn't get on the board until the eighth inning in an eventual 2-1 defeat. Sale now has eight or more strikeouts in six of his last seven outings. His ERA sits at 3.01 with a 0.94 WHIP and 92:11 K:BB across 12 starts (74.2 innings) this year. Sale's currently in line for a road matchup with the Orioles in his next outing.
