    • Secures ninth save
Diaz struck out the only batter he faced Tuesday to record his ninth save of the season in a 7-5 win over the Nationals.

Advice: The Mets took a 7-2 lead into the ninth inning, but Reed Garrett made a mess of things and forced manager Carlos Mendoza to turn to his closer with two outs and a runner on first base. Diaz actually allowed the inherited runner to score after Jacob Young took second on defensive indifference and then raced around the bases on a wild pitch, but the right-hander fanned CJ Abrams to end the game. Diaz has gone six straight appearances since returning from his suspension without having a run charged to his own ledger, collecting two wins and four saves during that stretch with a 6:1 K:BB. • Smacks 15th home run
Westburg went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss against the Cubs.

Advice: Westburg took Jameson Taillon deep to one of the deepest parts of Camden Yards in the left-center field seats. The 418-foot blast was Westburg's third-longest homer this season and his 15th overall. He became the fourth different Orioles player with 15 or more home runs this season, most of any team in MLB. The 25-year-old continued his stellar first half, and he's now slashing .281/.328/.512 with 50 RBI and is on his way to his first All-Star appearance. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:31 pm

    • Goes deep in win
Happ went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, a walk and an additional run in Tuesday's 9-2 win over the Orioles.

Advice: Happ stayed hot at the dish, as he singled, walked and then crushed a three-run blast in his first three at-bats Tuesday. It was Happ's 14th homer of the season and eighth in the last 22 games alone, and it ran his RBI total over that span to 25 in the process. For the season, the 29-year-old is hitting .244/.358/.455 and continues to be an everyday lock in the middle of the Cubs lineup. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:08 pm

    • Zack Wheeler (back) likely to make next start
Phillies manager Rob Thomson told reporters Zack Wheeler (back) is expected to make his next start on Sunday against the Athletics.

Advice: Thomson added that Wheeler’s early exit from Tuesday’s start against the Dodgers was merely for precautionary reasons after his back tightened up on him after five innings. The 34-year-old fantasy ace will be re-evaluated on Wednesday out of an abundance of caution, but all indications are that he’ll be ready to take the ball this weekend. • Edwin Díaz grabs unexpected save for Mets
Edwin Díaz struck out the only batter he faced to earn the save against the Nationals on Tuesday.

Advice: Díaz had no business being in this game, but Adam Ottavino and Reed Garrett each gave up a two-run homer to put the Nationals back in this game. There was also a strange play in Díaz’s four pitches of work where Francisco Alvarez lost a slider behind him and allowed Jacob Young to score from second base on the wild pitch. Still, it was nice to see Díaz lock this one down and make CJ Abrams look foolish in the process. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:02 pm
    • Hits big home run in win
Happ went 2-for-4 with a walk, a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 9-2 win over the Orioles.

Advice: Happ continues to enjoy the month of July, as he's batting ,417 since the calendar turned with three home runs and 11 RBI across seven games, pushing him to 14 long balls and 55 RBI overall. The veteran is still batting just .244 for the season, but based on the recent hot streak, that figure could rise quickly in the next few weeks. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:44 pm

    • Wheeler earns win despite leaving game early
Zack Wheeler allowed one run on three hits in five innings in a win over the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Advice: Wheeler left the game after five innings with back tightness, but the Phillies were already up 9-1 at the time, so it’s possible the team was just being cautious with their ace. Wheeler walked two on the day and struck out seven while posting a 31 percent whiff rate and 30 percent CSW. He’s set to pitch against Oakland this weekend, but it’s possible the Phillies could decide to simply rest him with the All-Star break looming. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:42 pm

    • Happ stays hot with two hits, HR in big win
Ian Happ went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in a win over the Orioles on Tuesday.

Advice: Happ swatted a 395-foot three-run home run off of Dean Kremer in the fourth inning for his 14th home run of the season. He also added a 105.3 mph single earlier in the game. Over his last 20 games, Happ is 21-for-66 (.318) with seven home runs and 22 RBI. He’s absolutely on fire and needs to be in all lineups at this point. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:30 pm

    • Jordan Westburg homers in loss to Cubs
Jordan Westburg went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Cubs on Tuesday.

Advice: Westburg took a second-inning offering from Jameson Taillon and deposited it 418 feet for his 15th home run and 50th RBI of the season. The 25-year-old continues his breakout season, and while his elevated swinging strike rate has caused his batting average to fall a bit since his torrid start to the season, he’s still slashing .281/.328/.512 in what has been a tremendous season for the 25-year-old.
