    • Hit hard in Tampa
Abbott (9-7) took the loss Saturday, giving up four runs on eight hits and two walks over four-plus innings as the Reds were downed 4-0 by the Rays. He struck out two.

Advice: The southpaw fired 60 of 88 pitches for strikes but was getting too much of the plate, as six of the eight hits off him went for extra bases including back-to-back homers in the fifth inning by Alex Jackson and Yandy Diaz. Abbott has been erratic in July -- three of his five trips to the mound resulted in quality starts in which he allowed just one total run, but he got torched for nine runs in 7.1 innings in the other two outings. He'll take a 3.38 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 89:45 K:BB through 117 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Giants. Rotowire.com Today, 4:12 am

    • Hitting well post All-Star break
Diaz went 3-for-4 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored Saturday against the Dodgers.

Advice: Diaz has hit well for most of July and that has continued across eight games out of the All-Star break. He's gone 10-for-29 with six RBI and four runs scored in that span. While Diaz has raised his average to .283, he's still struggled to unlock much power this season by posting only a .132 ISO. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:59 pm

    • Nabs steal, dons golden sombrero
Robert went 0-for-5 with a stolen base, a run scored and four strikeouts in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Robert has racked up 10 steals over 21 contests in July, despite batting .228 in that span. A strikeout problem has contributed to the low average and reached its nadir Saturday with his second golden sombrero of the campaign. Robert has struck out multiple times in eight of his nine games since the All-Star break and is now fanning at a 36.6 percent rate this year. He's managed 13 steals, 12 home runs, 24 RBI and 25 runs scored while slashing .214/.287/.449 through 52 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:18 pm

    • Diaz has three hits, RBI in win over Dodgers
Yainer Diaz went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, a triple and an RBI against the Dodgers on Saturday.

Advice: Diaz was probably drafted too early in your league before the season, but he still has pretty solid numbers for a catcher. The eight home runs aren’t anything to write home about, but he’s hitting .289 with a .733 OPS and 55 RBI on the year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:38 pm

    • Josh Naylor unlikely to play on Sunday as well
Guardians manager Stephen Vogt told reporters on that Josh Naylor is “dealing with some stuff”, which is why he was held out of the team’s lineup for the second straight day on Saturday.

Advice: Vogt elaborated, “We felt like getting him a couple days to knock everything out, to get him back to level to be able to finish the season, hopefully, scotch-free. ... He’s been banged up all year.” Given the statement, it seems likely that Naylor will be held out of the Guardians’ lineup on Sunday as well, though nothing is certain. Vogt did say that he didn’t expect Naylor would require a trip to the injured list. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:37 pm

    • Andrew Abbott surrenders four runs in loss
Andrew Abbott allowed four runs with two strikeouts over four innings in a loss to the Rays on Saturday.

Advice: Abbott put two runners on a base in the second inning before the Rays brought a run in on a groundout. Tampa Bay was all over him in the fifth, as Alex Jackson and Yandy Díaz later took him deep for back-to-back solo homers to start the frame. Amed Rosario and Brandon Lowe followed with a pair of doubles, and that would be it for Abbott. The 25-year-old right-hander will look to bounce back when he takes a 3.38 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and an 89/45 K/BB ratio across 117 innings into a start against the Giants in Cincinnati on Friday. • Josh Naylor remains out of lineup on Saturday
Josh Naylor is not in the lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the Phillies.

Advice: No word yet on the reason why Naylor is absent from Cleveland’s lineup for the second straight contest, but it’s possible he’s dealing with some sort of physical issue. It’ll be rookie Jhonkensy Noel at the cold corner on Saturday evening in his absence. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:44 pm
