• Set for rehab assignment
Bradley (pectoral) is expected to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Sunday, Marc Topkin reports.

Advice: Bradley threw 62 pitches across four innings in extended spring training Monday. He emerged from the outing without issue and is now likely set for a couple of rehab appearances before being activated from the injured list. Rotowire.com 9 minutes ago

  • Takes first loss of season
Detmers (3-1) took the loss against Baltimore on Monday, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four batters over seven innings.

Advice: Detmers surrendered four extra-base hits, including two homers, among the six knocks the Orioles managed against him, and he tied his season low with a modest four punchouts. Still, the southpaw registered his longest start of the campaign with seven frames to help the Angels stay close, but the team couldn't complete a ninth-inning rally that could have taken him off the hook for his first loss. Despite the defeat, Detmers has had an overall strong start to the campaign, posting a 2.12 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 34:10 K:BB through 29.2 innings. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

  • Unscored upon again in victory
Suarez (1-0) earned the win over the Angels on Monday, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out five batters over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Suarez got another turn in the rotation after holding Minnesota scoreless in his season debut Wednesday, and he turned in a very similar pitching line. The right-hander again completed 5.2 scoreless frames, this time getting enough run support to earn his first major-league win since 2016. Suarez has now completed 11.1 scoreless innings to begin the campaign, though his lack of previous big-league success makes it reasonable to question if he can sustain his effectiveness. It's worth noting that the right-hander pitched in Korea over the previous two campaigns, and though he wasn't exactly dominant, it's possible that tenure helped him uncover something that is helping with his approach to big-league hitters. Suarez appears set to stick in Baltimore's rotation for the time being, and he lines up for a favorable matchup against Oakland in his next projected start. Rotowire.com 40 minutes ago

  • Yields one run in five frames
Gomber tossed five innings, allowing one run on four hits and three walks while striking out two batters in a no-decision against San Diego on Monday.

Advice: Gomber induced just seven swinging strikes among his 95 pitches and punched out only two Padres, but he kept Colorado in the game despite allowing at least one baserunner in each of his five frames. The southpaw got only one run of support from the Rockies' offense, though that was enough for him to avoid taking the loss. Gomber has given up three or fewer runs in each of his past four starts, but he remains stuck on zero wins this season. Rotowire.com Today, 10:11 pm

  • Fans eight in victory Monday
Cease (3-1) earned the win over Colorado on Monday, allowing one run on one hit and no walks while striking out eight batters over seven innings.

Advice: Cease dominated the Rockies' lineup, yielding just one hit -- a fourth-inning Charlie Blackmon leadoff double that Colorado converted into its only run. The veteran hurler has notched a win in each of his past three starts, giving up just two earned runs and five hits while striking out 22 batters over 19 frames during that stretch. Cease's lack of free passes Monday was also a positive development after he had issued multiple walks in each of his first four starts of the campaign, including five in his previous outing. Cease's season ERA now sits at a sterling 1.82, which is tied for 10th in MLB among qualified starters. Rotowire.com Today, 9:53 pm

  • Suárez shuts down Angels for first win since 2016
Albert Suárez blanked the Angels for 5 2/3 innings in the Orioles’ 4-2 victory Monday.

Advice: Suárez won for the first time since June 23, 2016, when he outpitched the Pirates’ Jon Niese in a 5-3 victory for the Giants. It’s so long ago that no member of either team’s starting lineup is currently active in the majors (although both Starling Marte and Brandon Crawford did appear off the bench that day). Suárez got 16 missed swings tonight, half of them coming on his 94-mph fastball. He’s not guaranteed much additional time in the rotation with Kyle Bradish due back soon, but he should be a nice play if he gets to face the A’s on Sunday. Rotoworld Today, 9:44 pm

  • Reid Detmers goes seven innings in loss
Reid Detmers lost to the Orioles after allowing four runs in seven innings on Monday.

Advice: Starts like this still seem like progress for Detmers, who completed six innings in only 10 of his 28 outings last season. He’s already done so in three out of five this year, and he still hasn’t topped 100 pitches in the process. The loss leaves him 3-1 with a 2.12 ERA. He has a favorable matchup against the Twins coming this weekend. Rotoworld Today, 9:44 pm

  • Keaton Winn goes six in defeating Mets
Keaton Winn held the Mets to one run over six innings in the Giants’ 5-2 victory Monday.

Advice: Winn struck out six and walked one. The lone run came on a Pete Alonso homer. Winn moved to 2-3 with a 3.54 ERA. He’s probably not as good as that ERA suggests, but he is perfectly solid, and he’s now destined to spend at least one more month in the rotation with Alex Cobb getting shifted to the 60-day IL. • José Quintana tagged for five runs by Giants
José Quintana surrendered five runs over five innings Monday in a loss to the Giants.

Advice: Quintana has simply stopped missing bats this year; with his velocity down about 1.5 mph from two years ago, hardly anyone is chasing and no one is missing when they do. Quintana has a reasonable 4.21 ERA anyway, but there doesn’t seem like much to be optimistic about here. Rotoworld Today, 9:16 pm
