• Clubs homer off bench
Moore went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in a 6-4 loss to Boston on Thursday.

Advice: Moore began the game on the bench but entered as a pinch hitter for Dominic Canzone in the seventh inning. The move paid off for Seattle, as Moore slammed a 409-foot, two-run shot to center to bring the Mariners to within a run. Moore slashed .378/.511/.595 with two long balls this spring, but he's had contact issues throughout his big-league career and isn't slated for an everyday role this year, so his fantasy outlook is limited. • Clubs long ball on Opening Day
Haniger went 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, two total runs and two total RBI in Thursday's loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Haniger drilled a two-run homer to right field in the fourth inning for Seattle's first runs of the campaign. It was a promising start to the season for the 33-year-old, who is coming off a pair of injury-plagued campaigns. The last time Haniger made it through a full season mostly healthy was 2021, when he slugged 39 homers and notched 100 RBI over 157 games. That makes him a somewhat alluring option in fantasy, though the health concerns present a significant drawback. Rotowire.com 24 minutes ago
  • Begins Boston tenure with big game
O'Neill went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk, a stolen base and two total runs in Thursday's 6-4 Opening Day victory against the Mariners.

Advice: After six seasons with St. Louis, O'Neill started in right field and batted fifth in his Red Sox debut. The 28-year-old displayed both his power and his speed for his new team, swiping second base following a walk in the second inning and capping the scoring in the contest with an eighth-inning solo shot. O'Neill certainly has the skill set to be an impactful fantasy asset, but his health is a question mark -- over his final two seasons with the Cardinals, he played in just 168 of a possible 324 regular-season games. • Swats Opening Day homer
Devers went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double and two total RBI in Thursday's 6-4 victory versus Seattle.

Advice: Devers put Boston's first runs of the season on the board in the third inning with his 400-foot, two-run homer off Mariners ace Luis Castillo. The third baseman is off to a strong start to the campaign as he seeks to build upon the 33-homer, 100-RBI performance he posted last year. Devers is one of the most reliable third basemen in fantasy after averaging 33 long balls, 100 RBI and 150 games played over the past three campaigns. Rotowire.com 34 minutes ago
  • Pops first homer
Trout went 1-for-3 with a solo home run Thursday against the Orioles.

Advice: Trout hit third in the Angels' Opening Day lineup and wasted no time parking his mark on the game by taking Corbin Burnes deep in his first at-bat. He was ultimately pulled from the game early with the Angels down big, but there is no injury issue. Trout has failed to reach 500 plate appearances in each of the last three full seasons, but he should remain an elite producer so long as he can stay on the field. Rotowire.com 58 minutes ago
  • Records three hits on Opening Day
Fry went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI in Thursday's 8-0 Opening Day win over Oakland.

Advice: Fry got the start at DH and batted fifth in the order following a strong spring during which he hit .295 with a pair of homers and eight RBI. The 28-year-old scored Cleveland's first run of the campaign in the second inning Thursday, coming around to score on a Tyler Freeman double following his own one-out two-bagger. In addition to his three hits, Fry added a sacrifice fly in the ninth frame to cap the scoring in the contest. It will take much more than one game for him to gain viability in mixed fantasy leagues, though the fact that Fry holds catcher eligibility and may log occasional time at DH in addition to being able to play the infield and outfield gives him some intrigue, especially in two-catcher formats. • Reaches thrice, homers
Biggio went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during Thursday's win over Tampa Bay.

Advice: Biggio was excellent from the nine-slot Thursday, picking up his first long ball of the campaign in just his second at-bat. The 29-year-old has hit better than .235 just once in his five-year career and has seen fewer than 340 plate appearances in four straight campaigns, but he could have the opportunity to exceed both of those marks in 2024 if Thursday is any indication. • Hits first home run of season
Springer went 1-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during Thursday's win over the Rays.

Advice: Springer kicked off the Blue Jays' scoring Thursday, delivering a solo homer off Zach Eflin in the fourth inning for the team's first run. While he wouldn't get another hit, Springer was walked in the seventh and eventually came around to score on a Bo Bichette double. Batting atop a stacked Toronto lineup once again this season, Springer should provide ample fantasy value from the outfield position. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:53 pm
  • Marte scores thrice in Opening Day blowout win
Ketel Marte scored three times while going 3-for-5 and also driving in a run in a blowout win Thursday over the Rockies.

Advice: Marte was one of six players to score multiple runs for the Diamondbacks on Thursday in a contest where Arizona scored 16 runs against the woeful Rockies. Fourteen of those runs came in the third inning, and Marte’s RBI unsurprisingly came in that frame with a single that plated Alek Thomas. The Diamondbacks lineup should be among the better groups in the National League, and hitting at the top of that group should allow Marte to be among the better run-scoring options throughout the 2024 season — even when they’re not playing Colorado.
