    • Rehab assignment pending
Santos (lat) will start a rehab assignment at Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.

Advice: Santos threw a live BP session Friday without a setback and will be sent out on a minor-league rehab stint Tuesday. Considering he's been out since spring training, Santos should require several rehab appearances before being reinstated. It's unclear if he'll be able to return prior to the All-Star break, but Santos should be activated before the calendar flips to August. Rotowire.com 35 minutes ago

    • Gregory Santos (lat) ready for rehab assignment
Gregory Santos (lat) will begin a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday.

Advice: Santos has been sidelined since spring training due to a right lat strain. The 24-yera-old right-hander is only expected to need a couple of appearances there before he’s ready to return to the Mariners’ bullpen. If all goes according to plan, he could be ready to return before the end of next week. Rotoworld 40 minutes ago

    • Luke Raley (shoulder) remains out of lineup Friday
Luke Raley (shoulder) remains out of the Mariners’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Twins.

Advice: Raley will miss his second straight game due to soreness in his shoulder. The good news, is that an MRI revealed no structural damage and the 29-year-old outfielder is expected to be available off the Mariners’ bench on Friday. He should be considered day-to-day. • Mariners option Cody Bolton to Triple-A Tacoma
Mariners optioned RHP Cody Bolton to Triple-A Tacoma.

Advice: Bolton has made 17 appearances out of the Mariners’ bullpen this season, posting a 4.34 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and a 17/9 K/BB ratio across 18 2/3 innings of work. He’ll undoubtedly get another opportunity to pitch at the big-league level before the summer is through. Jhonathan Diaz was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move on Friday. • Recalled from Triple-A
The Mariners recalled Diaz from Triple-A Tacoma on Friday.

Advice: Since being sent down to Triple-A on June 12, Diaz has allowed eight runs (six earned) in 11 innings across two starts. The 27-year-old allowed three runs to come across the plate during his spot start against the White Sox, and he'll presumably join the Mariners' rotation temporarily while Bryan Woo (hamstring) is on the injured list. Cody Bolton was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com 49 minutes ago
    • Mariners recall Jhonathan Diaz from Triple-A
Mariners recalled LHP Jhonathan Diaz from Triple-A Tacoma.

Advice: It sounds like the 27-year-old southpaw could join the Mariners’ rotation in place of the injured Bryan Woo (hamstring), provided his services aren’t required out of the bullpen before then. Diaz has made one start for the M’s this season, posting a 5.06 ERA, 1.88 WHIP and a 4/1 K/BB ratio across 5 1/3 frames. Cody Bolton was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move. • Optioned to Tacoma
The Mariners optioned Bolton to Triple-A Tacoma on Friday.

Advice: Bolton appeared in two games for the big club since being recalled June 14, allowing three runs (one earned) on five hits and one walk while striking out three over 2.1 innings. Bolton will cede his spot on the 26-man roster to southpaw Jhonathan Diaz. Rotowire.com 51 minutes ago
