    • Traded to Milwaukee
The Rays agreed to trade Civale to the Brewers on Wednesday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

Advice: The return for Tampa Bay will be minor-league infielder Gregory Barrios, per Joel Sherman of the New York Post. Civale has an ERA north of 5.00 through 17 starts this season, but his xFIP is almost a full run lower at 4.09 and he should help stabilize the rotation for the first-place Brewers. Shane Baz was scratched from his scheduled start for Triple-A Durham on Tuesday and appears a likely candidate to replace Civale in the Rays' rotation. Rotowire.com Today, 6:12 am

    • Civale traded to Brewers
Brewers acquired RHP Aaron Civale from the Rays, according to the New York Post’s Jon Heyman.

Advice: The Rays acquired Civale last July from the Guardians in a deal for Kyle Mansardo. He went 4-9 with a 5.17 ERA in 27 starts for the Rays. Civale has a 5.07 ERA despite a 4.09 xFIP this season so this could be a shrewd pickup by the Brewers. Not much has changed with his fantasy value as he moves into the Milwaukee rotation. • Belts homer No. 10
Correa went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Tigers.

Advice: His eighth-inning blast deep to left-center field off Beau Brieske capped the scoring on the night. Correa has hit safely in five straight games, and since June 6 the veteran shortstop has a blistering .418/.476/.659 slash line over 103 plate appearances with six of his 10 homers on the year and 19 of his 41 RBI. • Does some hitting Tuesday
Stanton (hamstring) did some hitting Tuesday, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.

Advice: It would appear to be the first time he's done any hitting since he landed on the 10-day injured list a little over a week ago with a left hamstring strain. Stanton is moving in the right direction but is still expected to miss about four weeks of action. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:32 pm
    • Taking seat against RHP
Wells is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Cincinnati.

Advice: Despite right-hander Graham Ashcraft pitching for the Reds, the lefty-hitting Wells will be held out of the Yankees lineup. Instead, Jose Trevino will bat ninth and catch. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:14 pm
    • Resumes rehab assignment
Votto (ankle/back) resumed his rehab assignment in the rookie-level Florida Complex League on Tuesday before shifting his assignment to Single-A Dunedin later in the week and going 0-for-6 with a strikeout in his first two games in the Florida State League.

Advice: After experiencing lower-back tightness coming out of his third rehab game in the FCL on June 19, Votto was held out of action for a little less than a week before returning to the lineup. Votto will continue to stockpile at-bats in the lower levels of the minors before eventually making his way to Triple-A Buffalo and getting activated from the affiliate's 7-day injured list. If Votto performs well at Buffalo, he could be in the mix for a promotion to Toronto's big-league roster at some point in the second half of the season. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:03 am

    • Justin Verlander has started playing catch
Astros general manager Dana Brown said Justin Verlander (neck) has resumed playing catch.

Advice: The 41-year-old has been on the injured list since the middle of June with a neck issue, and the Astros have been tight-lipped about his recovery. According to The Athletic’s Chandler Rome, “Verlander has deferred all questions to the team, which remains insistent this injury is just a neck issue,” but the team has said that he’ll need a prolonged buildup and then at least one rehab start, which means a return before the All-Star break feels unlikely. • Allows four runs in seven frames
Severino did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing four runs on eight hits and a walk over seven innings against the Astros. He struck out three.

Advice: Severino was highly efficient if not incredibly effective, needing just 79 pitches to complete seven innings despite allowing four runs and nine baserunners while throwing a first-pitch strike to just 13 of 28 batters. He also struck out only three after fanning a season-high 10 batters in his previous outing. It's the fifth consecutive start in which he's gone at least six innings, though it's the second time within those starts that he allowed at least four earned runs. Severino's next opportunity to toe the rubber is slated to take place next weekend when the Mets travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Pirates. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:54 pm

    • Luis Severino lasts seven innings in no-decision
Luis Severino allowed four runs in seven innings against the Astros on Sunday. He struck out three and walked one.

Advice: Severino pitched better than his line would indicate. The Astros dinked and dunked most of their hits as Severino pounded the zone with sinkers. He threw that pitch 63% of the time along with 14% four-seam fastballs along with 5% cutters; that made 82% of his total pitches fastball variations. This strategy has helped fuel Severino’s bounce-back season with a 3.42 ERA, yet only 74 strikeouts in 97 1/3 innings. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:35 pm
