    • X-rays on hand negative
X-rays on Altuve's left hand came back negative following his removal from Friday's game versus Minnesota, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

Advice: Altuve made an early exit from Friday's game in the eighth inning after taking a pitch off his hand, but he managed to escape the incident with only a bruise. It's possible he sits out a game or two in order to give his hand a chance to properly recover, but an extended absence isn't likely. The 34-year-old is slashing .387/.457/.516 with a homer and five RBI over his last seven games. Rotowire.com 8 minutes ago

    • Jose Altuve diagnosed with left hand contusion
The Astros got good news after Friday night’s victory over the Twins as the X-rays on the injured left hand of Jose Altuve came back negative for any fractures.

Advice: Altuve was diagnosed with a left hand contusion and is considered day-to-day. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him get a day off on Saturday to be on the safe side, but the 34-year-old infielder shouldn’t be looking at any sort of extended absence. Rotoworld 10 minutes ago

    • Tanner Houck erratic, pulled in fourth inning
Tanner Houck allowed three runs, one earned, over 3 1/3 innings on Friday against the Yankees. He walked four batters and struck out just one in a no-decision.

Advice: A 45 minute rain delay early in this game made this start a bit wonky. Houck cruised through the first two innings before the storm and lost his touch afterwards. The three runs off him came on a fielder’s choice with an error, walk, and ground out. It’s been a rough few weeks for Houck relative to his early-season prowess, but this outing was more weird than outright bad. Rotoworld 55 minutes ago
    • Jose Altuve (hand) leaves game after hit by pitch
Jose Altuve was removed from Friday night’s battle against the Twins after being hit by a pitch on his left hand.

Advice: Altuve was clipped by a 94.3 mph sinker from Josh Winder. The 34-year-old superstar second baseman was grimacing and looked to be in obvious pain on the field. He’ll head for X-rays to see if he’s dealing with any fractures. The Astros should have an update on his status after that imaging is complete. In the meantime, all fantasy managers can do is wait and hope for the best. Rotoworld Today, 8:00 pm

    • Max Fried can’t stop Phillies’ bats
Max Fried allowed 11 hits and five earned runs in six innings of work on Friday against the Phillies. He struck out four and walked one in a loss.

Advice: This was a pivotal game for the Braves as they try to claw their way back into the NL East race and Fried simply did not have it. He lived in the heart of the zone and the Phillies made him pay time and time again. They had base runners in five out of six innings and looked incredibly comfortable in the box all night. Fried was fortunate to get through this start with only five earned runs. Rotoworld Today, 7:48 pm

    • Exits after HBP
Altuve was removed from Friday's game against the Twins after getting by a pitch, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: Altuve took a 94-mph sinker off his left hand/wrist during the eighth inning of Friday's contest and was taken out of the game after conferring with a trainer. He'll presumably undergo imaging in the clubhouse, and the Astros should offer an update on his status after the game. Rotowire.com Today, 7:40 pm

    • Coughs up five runs
Fried (7-4) allowed five runs on 11 hits and a walk over six innings Friday, striking out four and taking a loss against the Phillies.

Advice: Fried worked through three scoreless frames before beginning to unravel. He gave up three runs in the fourth inning and two more in the sixth. Of the five runs he allowed, four came via a pair of two-run shots from Trea Turner. Fried had given up just three runs over his previous three starts but saw his season ERA jump from 2.91 to 3.18 after Friday's hiccup. His next start is lined up to be in Arizona. • Avoids serious injury, still on IL
An MRI on Friday revealed Heyward is dealing with a left knee contusion that will require a stint on the injured list, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Heyward got some good news Friday, as the MRI showed no structural damage in his left knee. Still, Heyward will hit the IL, leaving a roster spot for open for James Outman. Although he'll be out for over a week, Heyward could be back after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Today, 4:27 pm

    • Dodgers place Jason Heyward (knee) on IL
Dodgers placed OF Jason Heyward on the 10-day injured list with a left knee contusion.

Advice: Heyward underwent a precautionary MRI exam on Friday that showed his meniscus and ligaments are intact, but the Dodgers still thought it was best to allow him a couple of weeks to heal up. James Outman was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move on Friday. Rotoworld Today, 4:15 pm
