      DeGrom (elbow) is slated to throw his first bullpen session since last June's Tommy John surgery during the Rangers' June 17-23 homestand, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

      Advice: DeGrom resumed flat-ground throwing Wednesday following a scheduled de-loading period as he continues his rehab from a second Tommy John operation. The right-hander has hit all the necessary markers in his recovery so far but has many more to go.       Buehler didn't factor into the decision Thursday against Pittsburgh, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and a walk over three innings. He struck out three.

      Advice: After needing 78 pitches to get through three frames, Buehler didn't come out for the fourth, marking the 29-year-old's shortest start of 2024. He surrendered a two-run home run to Nick Gonzales in the third inning, the right-hander's seventh long ball allowed in 28.0 innings. Buehler's been shaky since returning from Tommy John surgery, yielding exactly three runs in five of his six starts this season to fuel a 4.82 ERA.       O'Neill started at designated hitter and went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in Thursday's 14-2 win over the White Sox.

      Advice: This was O'Neill's second game back after being reinstated from the injured list Wednesday. He played nine innings in right field Wednesday. The veteran outfielder hit safely in both games, going 4-for-7 with a walk, an RBI and three runs scored.       Greene (4-2) earned the win over the Cubs on Thursday, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out eight batters over 6.2 innings.

      Advice: Greene gave up a pair of two-run homers but otherwise kept the Cubs off the scoreboard. The right-hander racked up 17 whiffs among his 111 pitches and gave Cincinnati 6.2 frames, marking the fifth straight start during which he's completed at least six innings.       Advice: Abrams broke a scoreless tie in the sixth frame with his leadoff homer against Atlanta starter Reynaldo Lopez. The shortstop came into the contest having gone 1-for-21 over his previous seven games and recently missed time due to a shoulder issue, so the long ball was a much-needed positive development.     • Walker Buehler shaky in short outing vs. Pirates
      Walker Buehler was charged with four runs (three earned) over three innings on Thursday in a no-decision against the Pirates.

      Advice: Buehler was staked to a four-run lead before taking the mound at PNC Park, but it vanished by the third inning of this one as he was tagged for seven hits, including a two-run homer by Nick Gonzales. It wasn’t completely his fault as the Dodgers committed a pair of errors and weren’t able to make a couple catches on balls that ended up going for hits and drove up his pitch count in the process. He finished with three strikeouts and only issued one walk. The hard-throwing 29-year-old righty holds a lackluster 4.82 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 27/8 K/BB ratio across 28 innings (six starts). He hasn’t quite returned to fantasy ace status yet, but it’s still early considering how much time he’s missed since undergoing his second Tommy John surgery.       Hunter Greene allowed four runs in 6 2/3 innings and got the win in the Reds’ 8-4 victory over the Cubs on Thursday.



      Advice: Greene gave up five hits, walked two and struck out eight. The win was his fourth in 13 starts this season. It was a bit of a mixed bag for Greene with two home runs allowed and eight strikeouts. He has a 3.61 ERA on the season, but a 4.23 xFIP.       CJ Abrams went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Braves on Thursday.

      Advice: The home run was Abrams’ 10th of the season. He had slumped and missed time with shoulder soreness last week, but seemed unbothered on Thursday.     • Hangs on for fourth save
      Garcia earned the save Thursday against the Orioles despite allowing two runs on a hit in the ninth inning. He struck out two.

      Advice: Garcia had Baltimore down to their final out before hitting Austin Hays with a pitch and subsequently surrendering a two-run homer to Ryan O'Hearn, cutting Toronto's lead to 6-5. However, Garcia would then strike out Kyle Stowers for the final out, securing his fourth save this season. The 33-year-old Garcia has converted both of Toronto's save chances since Jordan Romano (elbow) was placed on the IL on June 1.
