      Advice: The 26-year-old right-hander was in peak form, whiffing Adam Duvall with a 100.6 mph cutter to end the game. Doval blew his last save chance Friday though, and consistency has been an issue for him all year -- through 33.2 innings, he's posted a 4.28 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 44:22 K:BB, a significant step backwards from his ratios the prior two seasons.       Witt went 1-for-4 with a solo homer during Tuesday's loss to the Rays.

      Advice: Witt's home run in the sixth inning cut Tampa Bay's lead to 2-1, but it would also end up being the only way the Royals got on the board in a 5-1 defeat. The 24-year-old shortstop remains one of the most reliable bats in baseball, recording a hit in seven of his last eight games while posting a 1.015 OPS in that span.       Alvarez went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Blue Jays.

      Advice: Alvarez has homered in back-to-back games to open up July, bringing his season total to 18. The 27-year-old featured in the Astros' five-run fifth inning, plating Cesar Salazar and Jose Altuve on a three-run shot off Jose Berrios with two outs.       Donovan went 3-for-4 with a walk, one RBI and one run scored in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Pirates.

      Advice: Donovan had just six hitless games in June -- two of which were at the start of the month and two more at the end. He got off to a positive start in July with Tuesday's effort, his third three-hit game over his last 11 contests. He's up to a .270/.340/.414 slash line with eight home runs, 42 RBI, 37 runs scored, two stolen bases, 18 doubles and one triple over 79 games.       Sewald (0-1) took the loss and a blown save Tuesday versus the Dodgers, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out two in two-thirds of an inning.

      Advice: Sewald's 15.2-inning scoreless streak came to an end, and he also took his first blown save of the year. He labored in the ninth inning and ended up giving up a game-tying double to Freddie Freeman, who then scored on Teoscar Hernandez's walk-off single. Sewald is now 11-for-12 in save chances while sporting a 1.56 ERA, 0.63 WHIP and 17:3 K:BB through 17.1 innings. He is unlikely to lose the closer job as long as he's with Arizona, though he's on a one-year contract for a struggling team and could be flipped before the July 30 trade deadline.       Paul Sewald suffered his first blown save of the season on Tuesday night, allowing two runs on three hits over 2/3 innings against the Dodgers.

      Advice: The 34-year-old stopper was called upon to protect a one-run lead in the ninth inning. He started off the inning by striking out Gavin Lux and Shohei Ohtani, but things got interesting as Will Smith smacked a two-out double on the first pitch that he saw, putting the tying run in scoring position. Freddie Freeman then fell behind 0-2 before lining a game-tying RBI double into right field. Teoscar Hernandez followed with a walk-off RBI single that ended it. Even with this setback, Sewald still holds a terrific 1.56 ERA and 0.63 WHIP over 17 1/3 innings on the season while converting 11 of his first 12 save opportunities.       Bobby Witt Jr. crushed his 13th home run of the season on Tuesday night, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Royals to victory over the Rays.

      Advice: The 24-year-old superstar got the Royals on the board with his 399-foot (108.0 mph EV) solo shot off of Kevin Kelly in the sixth inning. That would be his lone hit in four at-bats on the night. Witt has been a five-category monster for fantasy purposes this season, slashing .311/.362/.539 with 13 homers, 55 RBI, 66 runs scored and 22 stolen bases through his first 87 games.     • Grayson Rodriguez strikes out eight to defeat M’s
      Grayson Rodriguez was exceptional in Tuesday night’s victory over the Mariners, racking up eight strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball.

      Advice: The 24-year-old budding superstar scattered just two hits and four walks on the evening. Only once did the Mariners advance a runner past second base on Rodriguez in this one, and that came with two outs in the sixth inning before Rodriguez punched out Cal Raleigh to end the threat. He generated a whopping 19 swings and misses on 104 pitches on the night, posting a strong CSW of 32 percent. Now 10-3 on the season, Rodriguez will carry a 3.45 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and a 97/29 K/BB ratio (88 2/3 innings) into battle against the Athletics in Oakland on Sunday.       Advice: This was just the second time in his last seven starts that Rodriguez walked multiple batters, but that was virtually the only flaw in his performance Tuesday. It was also his third scoreless outing of the year. Rodriguez is now at a 3.45 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 97:29 K:BB through 88.2 innings over 15 starts. The right-hander is tentatively projected for a home start versus the Cubs for his next appearance if the Orioles go to a six-man rotation, though he could move up to pitch on regular rest at Oakland on Sunday if Baltimore elects to work with five starters.
