      Willson Contreras went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and walk in the Cardinals’ 7-6 win over the Nationals.

      Advice: Contreras’ homer finally brought the Cardinals all the way back after trailing 5-0 early in this game. He has yet to get going after returning from the IL late in June, but the long ball was his second in three games and this was his first multi-hit game since coming back.       Ryan Helsey blew the save Friday against the Nationals despite not allowing an earned run. He also gave up two hits, an intentional walk, and didn’t strike a batter out across two innings.

      Advice: A shortcoming of the Ghost Runner rule: Helsley entered a one-run game in the 10th inning, allowed the automatic runner to score from second base, and got tagged with a blown save. He did well to get out of a jam with runners on second and third with one out when Juan Yepez lined into an inning ending double play.       Luis Robert Jr. went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles, drew two walks and swiped a pair of bases as the White Sox triumphed over the Marlins on Friday evening in Miami.

      Advice: The 26-year-old outfielder smacked a one-out single off of Bryan Hoenig in the third inning and swiped second base, but the White Sox were unable to cash him in. He also drew a two-out walk in the sixth inning and nabbed second again before being stranded there.
