    • Tyler O’Neill not in Saturday’s lineup vs. Reds
Tyler O’Neill is not in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Reds.

Advice: O’Neill gets a routine maintenance day with Wilyer Abreu back in right field on Saturday afternoon against the Reds. The 29-year-old has homered four times over his last seven games and should be back in there for Sunday’s series finale. Rotoworld Today, 10:41 am

    • Heading to bench Saturday
O'Neill is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Reds, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Advice: O'Neill will hit the bench after going 0-for-7 with two walks over the Red Sox's previous two contests, but he's been excellent overall since making his return from a three-game absence due to a knee issue earlier this month, slashing .273/.342/.697 since June 12. Even though he finds himself as the odd man out of the Boston outfield Saturday while the team brings Wilyer Abreu (ankle) back from the injured list, O'Neill should continue to handle a near-everyday role for the Red Sox. • Stuck with loss in quality start
Crawford (3-7) took the loss Friday as the Red Sox fell 5-2 to the Reds, giving up five runs (three earned) on five hits -- including three home runs -- and two walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Some defensive misadventures by Boston softened the blow to the right-hander's ERA and allowed him to escape with his third straight quality start and eighth of the season, but it's hard to ignore the issues Crawford has had of late keeping the ball in the park. He's been tagged for multiple homers in three straight outings and served up at least one in seven straight, stumbling to a 5.36 ERA over the latter stretch despite a 1.19 WHIP and 43:12 K:BB through 40.1 innings. Crawford will try to turn things around in his next start, which lines up to come at home next week against the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com Today, 6:46 am

    • Doubles twice in win
Altuve went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's win over the Orioles.

Advice: Altuve got hot early Friday; he singled and scored in the first inning before knocking an RBI double in the second. He capped off his day with another RBI double and another run scored during Houston's nine-run sixth inning. Altuve has caught fire after a lackluster May, producing a .995 OPS with 11 RBI over his last 12 games. His season slash line now sits at .301/.351/.460 with 27 extra-base hits and 45 runs scored. • Kutter Crawford gives up three homers in loss
Kutter Crawford surrendered five runs — three earned — in 6 1/3 innings Friday in a loss to the Reds.

Advice: Crawford surrendered three homers tonight, bringing his total allowed to seven in his last three starts. He’s given up at least one in seven straight outings. Odds are that Crawford will bounce back from this, but he’s never been more than a fringy mixed-league option in a bad situation for pitchers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:40 pm

    • Luis Campusano (thumb) considered day-to-day
Luis Campusano was scratched from the Padres’ starting lineup on Friday night due to a left thumb contusion.

Advice: Fortunately, the injury isn’t believed to be serious, and the 25-year-old backstop is considered day-to-day. Kyle Higashioka is starting in his place behind the dish on Friday night and will carry the load until Campusano is ready to return. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:58 pm

    • Scratched due to left thumb injury
Campusano (thumb) has been scratched from Friday's lineup against the Brewers, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Campusano was initially slated to start behind home plate and bat eighth, but manager Mike Shildt said the catcher was scratched due to "soreness and bruising" in his left thumb, and it's unclear whether a stint on the IL is needed. Kyle Higashioka will instead start at catcher and bat ninth against Brewers right-hander Colin Rea. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:36 pm

    • Luis Campusano scratched from Padres lineup
Luis Campusano was scratched from the Padres’ starting lineup on Friday night.

Advice: No word yet as to the reason for the late scratch, but it’ll be Kyle Higashioka starting in his place behind the dish and batting ninth against Colin Rea and the Brewers on Friday evening in San Diego. Stay tuned. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:29 pm

    • Three hits, four RBI in win
Mountcastle went 3-for-6 with two doubles, four RBI and three runs scored in Thursday's win over the Yankees while also drawing a walk.

Advice: Mountcastle increased Baltimore's lead to six runs with a three-run double in the second before also coming around to score later in the frame. He would go on to reach base four times in the game while also driving in another run, matching his season high with four RBI. The first baseman has now recorded multiple hits in back-to-back contests and extended his hitting streak to five games with Thursday's performance. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:07 pm
