      Advice: Gelof missed just under three weeks with an oblique strain. The second baseman returned to the No. 6 spot in the lineup, which is where he was at just before the injury after starting the year batting second. He's slashing a poor .188/.250/.323 with three home runs, seven RBI, 11 runs scored and four stolen bases over 25 contests this season.     • Civale doesn’t miss bats in no-decision vs BOS
      Aaron Civale allowed three runs on five hits in five innings in a no-decision against the Red Sox on Tuesday.

      Advice: Civale also struck out six and walked nobody on the night. However, he did allow seven hard-hit baseballs, including a home run to Ceddanne Rafaela, and posted a minuscule five percent walk rate. Yes, Civale got just two whiffs on 37 swings all evening. It’s hard to get overly excited about the strikeouts when he’s unable to get swings and misses. Overall, the season has been a disappointment for Civale.       Kyle Finnegan tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Tuesday against the White Sox to collect his 13th save of the season.

      Advice: Finnegan’s streak of 11 consecutive hitless innings came to a close when he gave up a one-out single to Andrew Benintendi. Yet, he managed to scatter a pair of hits in the frame, thanks to a couple ground outs and a strikeout of Nicky Lopez to end the contest, preserving a three-run lead in the opening contest of Tuesday’s doubleheader. He’s converted 13 of 14 save chances this season to go along with a 1.56 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 17/8 K/BB ratio across 17 1/3 innings (18 appearances).
