• Yasmani Grandal leaves game with groin discomfort
Yasmani Grandal was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Giants with left groin discomfort.

Advice: Let’s check in on Henry Davis, folks. Grandal could wind up hitting the injured list in the coming days, if the issue winds up being serious. There should be an update on his status at some point prior to Wednesday’s contest. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:46 pm

  • Back from injured list
The Giants reinstated Bailey (concussion) from the 7-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Bailey was cleared to return to the field Tuesday, so the Giants will waste no time bringing back their catcher who has slashed .280/.340/.451 through 95 plate appearances this season. Curt Casali will be the one starting behind the plate Tuesday against Martin Perez and the Pirates, but Bailey is sure to return to the lineup sooner rather than later. Blake Sabol was optioned to Double-A Richmond in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:34 pm
  • Giants activate Patrick Bailey on Tuesday
Giants activated C Patrick Bailey from the 7-day concussion injured list.

Advice: Bailey rejoins San Francisco’s active roster literally minutes prior to first pitch on Tuesday night against the Pirates. The 24-year-old backstop resumed baseball activities last weekend after being evaluated by a concussion specialist and should take over the catching duties for the Giants in short order. • Cleared to return to action
Bailey (concussion) was cleared to return to action after being examined by Dr. Mickey Collins on Tuesday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Collins, who is a concussion expert, cleared Bailey for baseball activities this past Friday and has now given the go-ahead for the catcher to play in games. While the Giants have not yet made a roster move involving Bailey, it would appear imminent. The 24-year-old has played just one game since May 4 because of concussion issues. • Tallies third stolen base
Lee went 1-for-3 with an RBI, a walk and a stolen base Monday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Lee has had a poor start to the White Sox's current road trip, as he's struck out eight times across 13 plate appearances. However, he's been surprisingly aggressive when he's reached base, attempting three stolen bases across in his last five contests and succeeding twice. Lee has slowly taken over the primary catcher role, though he still alternates time behind the dish with Martin Maldonado. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:10 am

  • Yainer Diaz does 2-for-4, scores twice in loss
Yainer Diaz went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI against the Angels on Monday.

Advice: Diaz was also robbed of a possible homer by Jo Adell at the right field wall in the ninth. That was actually his softest hit ball of the night. His EVs in the game were 110.7 mph, 107.8 mph, 103.7 mph and 98.4 mph. His hard-hit rate now stands at 51%, which is particularly impressive in combination with a 14% strikeout rate. • Danny Jansen homers, drives in five in Jays’ win
Danny Jansen went 3-for-5 with a homer, a double and five RBI as the Blue Jays bested the White Sox 9-3 on Monday.

Advice: Jansen, who hadn’t batted higher than fifth this season until today, had his big game from the second spot in the lineup. He’s batting .333/.397/.681 with five homers and just nine strikeouts through 78 plate appearances. It seems like more than just a hot streak, so he’s probably a top-10 fantasy catcher for the short term. Still, staying healthy has been quite an issue for the 29-year-old. • Collects five RBI
Jansen went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, five RBI and two runs scored in Monday's victory over the White Sox.

Advice: This was the third time in Jansen's career that he has driven in five or more runs in a game, marking the first occurrence since Oct. 1, 2022. The highlight of 29-year-old catcher's day was launching a 377-foot homer off Jordan Leasure in the seventh inning. The Blue Jays backstop has swung a hot bat to open the season, slashing .333/.397/.681 over his first 78 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:25 pm

  • In two-hole Monday
Jansen is starting at catcher and batting second in Monday's game versus the White Sox.

Advice: Blue Jays manager John Schneider has been changing things up with his lineups in an effort to get his offense going, and he's trying something new again Monday in batting Jansen higher than fifth for the first time this season. The catcher is slashing .313/.384/.625 on the year, so it's a move that certainly makes sense on paper. Rotowire.com Monday, 8:20 am
