  • Greene allows four, gets fourth win Thursday
    Hunter Greene allowed four runs in 6 2/3 innings and got the win in the Reds’ 8-4 victory over the Cubs on Thursday.



    Advice: Greene gave up five hits, walked two and struck out eight. The win was his fourth in 13 starts this season. It was a bit of a mixed bag for Greene with two home runs allowed and eight strikeouts. He has a 3.61 ERA on the season, but a 4.23 xFIP.   • Railes Iglesias gets 16th save Thursday
    Raisel Iglesias tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Nationals on Thursday.



    Advice: The save was Iglesias’ 16th of the season, but his lack of strikeouts this season is evident. He has struck out seven in his last 12 innings. Iglesias’ 17 percent strikeout percentage on the season is by far the lowest of his career and could catch up with him eventually. Rotoworld Today, 6:02 pm
     
  • Lopez allows two in no-decision Thursday
    Reynoldo Lopez allowed two runs in six innings and got a no-decision in the Braves’ 5-2 victory over the Nationals on Thursday.



    Advice: Lopez gave up six hits, walked one and struck out seven. CJ Abrams and Lane Thomas hit back-to-back home runs off him in the sixth inning. The home runs Lopez allowed were his third and fourth of the season (0.57 HR/9). Only Ranger Suarez and Luis Gil have a lower ERA than Lopez’ 1.85 (min. 50 innings), though his xFIP is significantly higher at 3.71. He has eight quality starts but he’s only won three of his 11 starts this year. The 30-year-old right-hander is set to face the Orioles on the road next week.

  • Getting second start
    Woodford is scheduled to start Thursday's game against the Red Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field.

    Advice: The White Sox called Woodford up from Triple-A Charlotte last week to fill the opening in the rotation that was created by Mike Clevinger's (elbow) placement on the 15-day injured list. Woodford's White Sox debut wasn't a memorable one -- he gave up three earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four over 4.1 innings in a May 28 loss to the Blue Jays -- but he'll get at least one more turn through the rotation while the team waits on Clevinger's return.   • Perfect for save No. 15
    Iglesias picked up the save Sunday against Oakland, tossing a perfect inning with no strikeouts.

    Advice: Iglesias needed just nine pitches to retire Zack Gelof, Kyle McCann and Max Schuemann in order. The 34-year-old is 15-for-17 on save chances this season and has allowed one hit in his last five innings of work.     Holmes threw a scoreless inning to earn a save against the Giants on Sunday.

    Advice: Holmes quickly finished off the 7-5 win Sunday, needing just 12 pitches to retire San Francisco's 2-3-4 hitters in order. He began the year without allowing an earned run through 20 innings before coughing up four in a brutal outing against Seattle on May 20.   • Clay Holmes slams door on Giants on Sunday
    Clay Holmes slammed the door on the Giants in the ninth inning on Sunday, protecting a two-run lead to earn his 17th save of the season.

    Advice: The Yankees rallied for four runs off of Giants’ closer Camilo Doval in the top half of the ninth inning to take the lead and Holmes did his job to make sure that it stood up. He needed just 12 pitches (eight strikes) to retire Brett Wisely, Wilmer Flores and Matt Chapman in order to end it. The 31-year-old hurler has been spectacular this season, compiling a 1.37 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and a 27/8 K/BB ratio across 26 1/3 innings while nabbing 17 saves and a victory.   • Raisel Iglesias earns 15th save
    Raisel Iglesias pitched a clean ninth inning on Sunday against the Athletics to earn the save.

    Advice: Iglesias grabbed another save, but once again did not strike a batter out. His 18.6 K% entering play Sunday is by far the lowest for any reliever with at least 10 saves and should give some concern moving forward. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:26 pm
     
  • Evan Phillips quiets Rockies to collect ninth save
    Evan Phillips tossed a perfect ninth inning on Saturday against the Rockies to collect his ninth save of the season.

    Advice: Phillips got the call to protect a three-run lead in the final frame and required just 11 pitches (seven strikes) to slam the door. The 29-year-old righty picked up his first save since returning from the injured list ahead of Friday’s series opener and remains one of the better closing options in the entire fantasy landscape.
