• Turns in scoreless appearance
Gil (4-1) allowed three hits and two walks over six shutout innings Sunday, striking out three and earning a win over the Rays.

Advice: Gil never found himself in much trouble Sunday as he cruised to a scoreless quality start. He's gone 3-0 while giving up one run over 18.1 frames in his last three outings, dropping his season ERA to 2.51. Prior to these three straight quality starts, Gil hadn't completed six innings in any of his first five appearances. His next start is projected to be a strong home matchup against the White Sox. • Knocked around by Yankees
Alexander (1-2) yielded six runs on seven hits and two walks over seven innings Sunday, striking out three and taking a loss against the Yankees.

Advice: Alexander was taken deep three times Sunday, including a pair of two-run shots from Jose Trevino and Aaron Judge. Alexander had given up just two home runs over his previous five appearances before Sunday. Despite the poor final line, it was his longest outing of the year. He owns a 5.45 ERA with a 33:12 K:BB through 39.2 frames. Alexander's next start is lined up to be in Toronto. Rotowire.com Today, 5:33 am
  • Down's A's for fourth win
Castillo (4-5) picked up the win over the Athletics on Sunday, allowing two runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out eight over six innings.

Advice: Both runs allowed by Castillo came via the long ball, with Max Schuemann and Abraham Toro taking him deep in consecutive innings. Aside from that, Castillo limited the damage to just base hits and tossed his sixth straight quality start, which now puts him in a tie for fifth-most in baseball. Castillo now owns a 3.31 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 64:11 K:BB in 54.1 innings and lines up to face the Orioles on the road next weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 5:01 am
  • Pulled after two innings Sunday
Wood (1-3) took the loss Sunday against the Mariners, allowing five runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk while striking out a batter over two innings.

Advice: Wood surrendered a first inning run off a pair of base hits and then suffered a disastrous second during which he gave up four unearned runs stemming from a fielding error by Max Shuemann to start off the frame. Sunday was by far Wood's shortest outing of the season and a disappointing one at that after he had shut down the Rangers his last time out. The 33-year-old now owns a 5.26 ERA, 1.78 WHIP and 33:19 K:BB in 39.1 innings and will look to bounce back against Kansas City in his next turn through the rotation. Rotowire.com Today, 4:38 am

  • Struggles with command
Wilson allowed two runs on five hits and five walks over four-plus innings in a no-decision Sunday. He struck out one in the loss to St. Louis.

Advice: Wilson walked home a run in the second inning but managed to hold the Cardinals to one run through four frames. He was knocked out of the contest after coughing up a home run to Paul Goldschmidt and a double to Alec Burleson to begin the fifth inning. Wilson has produced a shaky 16:13 K:BB over his last four starts but owns a 2.21 ERA during that span. He's produced a 2.65 ERA through 34 innings this season. Wilson's currently projected to start in Houston next weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:15 pm

  • Optioned to Triple-A
Kranick was optioned outright to Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday.

Advice: After Kranick was designated for assignment by the Mets on Monday, the right-hander cleared waivers, and he'll now report to Triple-A. The 26-year-old has made two starts with Syracuse this season, producing a 2.57 ERA and 1.71 WHIP with two strikeouts over seven innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:15 pm

  • Looks like himself
Hendricks didn't factor into the decision Sunday against Pittsburgh, allowing one run on two hits and four walks across five innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Hendricks was placed on the IL on April 23 with a lower back strain, a move that followed an extremely uncharacteristic start to the season. Prior to the injury, Hendricks stumbled to a 12.00 ERA and a 2.10 WHIP with eight homers allowed across 21.0 innings. Considering Hendricks had allowed 28 combined home runs over 221.1 innings the past two seasons and owned a 3.54 career ERA before 2024, Sunday's start was much more in line with Hendricks' averages. While one solid start doesn't mean fantasy managers should expect the Hendricks of old moving forward, it's a positive sign amid a not-so-positive season for Hendricks. He's lined up for a rematch with the Pirates on Friday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:04 pm
  • Luis Severino surrenders two runs in no-decision
Luis Severino pitched decently in a no-decision against the Braves on Sunday night, allowing two runs on four hits over his five-plus innings of work.

Advice: The 30-year-old right-hander walked three batters and punched out four on the night. He served up a solo homer to Jarred Kelenic in the second inning, then allowed the first two hitters to reach in the sixth inning before turning the ball over to the bullpen, and one of them ultimately crossed the plate. Severino got 12 swings and misses on 94 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 24 percent. He’ll try to get back in the win column as he totes a 3.00 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and a 41/20 K/BB ratio (45 innings) into Friday’s matchup against the Marlins in Miami. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:14 pm
  • Bryce Elder strikes out six in no-decision Sunday
Bryce Elder looked sharp in a no-decision against the Mets on Sunday night, striking out six batters over 5 1/3 innings of two-run baseball.

Advice: The right-hander scattered seven hits on the evening and didn’t allow a base on balls. Pete Alonso was responsible for all of the damage that was done against him, with an RBI single in the third inning and a run-scoring double in the sixth. Elder generated just seven swings and misses on 85 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 28 percent. Still 1-1 on the season, he’ll bring a 4.79 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and a 16/8 K/BB ratio (20 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Padres. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:14 pm
