    • Webb allows two runs in win over Braves Thursday
      Logan Webb allowed two runs in seven innings and got the win in the Giants’ 4-2 victory over the Braves on Thursday.



      Advice: Webb gave up seven hits, walked one and struck out six. The win was his seventh of the year. Webb gave up an RBI double to Ozzie Albies in the first inning and Albies later scored on an Austin Riley sacrifice fly to make it 2-0 Braves. Then he held Atlanta scoreless for the next six innings. Webb has gone seven innings and allowed two runs in four of his last six starts. He’s been one of the most consistent pitchers in fantasy this year and has a 3.09 ERA. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Blue Jays at home next week.

    • Goes six innings in no-decision
      Burnes allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out six over six innings in a no-decision versus the Mariners.

      Advice: Burnes, who welcomed twins over the weekend, was strong in his return to the mound. He threw 62 of 94 pitches for strikes, but he gave up both runs in the fifth inning, including one on a solo home run by Julio Rodriguez. Burnes has posted a quality start in all but one of his last 13 outings, though this was just the second time in his last seven starts that he didn't come away with a win. He has an excellent 2.32 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 105:25 K:BB through 112.2 innings over 18 starts this season. The right-hander is projected to make his next start at home versus the Cubs and should be set to pitch on a regular schedule with the Orioles electing for a five-man rotation moving forward.       Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, one stolen base and two total runs scored in Thursday's 7-3 win over the Orioles.

      Advice: Rodriguez earned his first multi-hit effort and swatted his first homer in 15 games. During the slump, he went just 7-for-56 (.125) while failing to log an extra-base hit or RBI. Rodriguez's recent poor play has seen him bounce around the lineup in an effort to get his bat going -- he hit fifth Thursday but had batted seventh in the previous two games.       Julio Rodríguez went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and also stole a base on Thursday, powering the Mariners to a 7-3 victory over the Orioles.

      Advice: Rodríguez connected for his first homer since June 15 when he launched a towering 428-foot blast to left field off Orioles ace Corbin Burnes in the fifth inning. It was his eighth round-tripper of the season and a much-needed sign for the 23-year-old superstar, who has been mired in a season-long tailspin at the dish. The absence of over-the-fence pop has been the most alarming trend in his sudden decline, so this performance certainly qualifies as a step in the right direction.     • Corbin Burnes tallies six strikeouts vs. Mariners
      Corbin Burnes struck out six and allowed two runs over six innings on Thursday in a no-decision against the Mariners.

      Advice: Burnes set down 12 straight batters to open the contest, and carried a shutout into the fifth inning, before coughing up a gargantuan solo homer to Mariners struggling superstar Julio Rodríguez. He proceeded to load the bases with nobody out in the frame, but managed to wriggle out of the jam with only one run crossing the plate. The overall strikeout total doesn’t seem that impressive, but he generated an eye-popping 18 swinging strikes and finished with a 31 percent CSW. The 29-year-old fantasy ace will bring a sparkling 2.32 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 105/25 K/BB ratio across 112 2/3 innings (18 starts) into a home outing on Wednesday against the Cubs in his final start prior to the Midsummer Classic.       Angels manager Ron Washington said that Mike Trout “has begun running on a treadmill and hitting off a tee.”

      Advice: It would be very impressive to do those at the same time, but we’ll assume Trout is separating those activities. Still, it’s nice to see the 32-year-old making progress in his return from knee surgery. It was reported that Trout was running on a treadmill back in May, but taking swings has been a new development. The veteran says he wants to return before the end of July, so he may begin a rehab stint after the All-Star break if he continues to progress.
