• Two hits, homer
Castro went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double during Wednesday's 6-3 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Castro tagged Garrett Crochet for a three-run homer in the second inning, plating Austin Martin and Christian Vazquez for his second long ball of 2024. Castro has generated a hit in six of his last seven games, a stretch in which he has four extra-base hits, a .333 batting average and five runs batted in. Rotowire.com Today, 8:50 pm

  • Ha-Seong Kim drives in two runs against Rockies
Ha-Seong Kim went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI on Wednesday in a 5-2 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Kim put the Padres on the board early with a two-run double in the first inning. He’d come around to score on a base hit as San Diego put four runs up in the opening frame. He added a base hit in the sixth for his second hit of the game. The 28-year-old infielder is slashing .240/.345/.417 with three homers, 16 runs scored, 15 RBI, and seven steals across 114 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 8:12 pm

  • Jose Altuve goes deep in Astros’ loss to Cubs
Jose Altuve belted a solo homer on Wednesday in the Astros’ loss to the Cubs.

Advice: Altuve took former teammate Héctor Neris deep in the ninth inning for his sixth round-tripper of the season. It was the first time he’s left the yard since a two-homer outburst back on April 14. The veteran second baseman has been one of the most impactful five-category contributors in the entire fantasy landscape this season, batting .350 (36-for-103) with 17 runs scored, six homers, eight RBI and three steals through 25 games. • Zack Gelof (oblique) likely heading to 10-day IL
Athletics’ manager Mark Kotsay told reporters after Wednesday’s game that Zack Gelof was diagnosed with a left oblique strain and will likely head to the injured list.

Advice: That’s a tough break for the Athletics and for fantasy managers who were relying on the dynamic 24-year-old second baseman. No word yet on how much time he may miss, but oblique injuries usually take at least a couple of weeks to recover and could be even longer depending on the severity. Expect Abraham Toro to see additional run at second base for as long as Gelof is sidelined. Rotoworld Today, 7:44 pm

  • Luis Arraez posts three hits in loss to Braves
Luis Arraez went 3-for-5 with a run scored on Wednesday in the Marlins’ extra-inning loss to the Braves.

Advice: Just like that, Arraez is batting .299 (32-for-107) after notching his seventh multi-hit performance in the last two weeks. He sparked Miami’s ninth-inning rally against Braves stopper Raisel Iglesias with a leadoff single to cap off a three-hit effort. He’s in the midst of an extended hot streak at the moment and it wouldn’t be surprising at all if he were back in the batting title race in a few weeks. Rotoworld Today, 7:32 pm

  • Willi Castro slugs three-run homer in win
Willi Castro went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer on Wednesday to power the Twins to a 6-3 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Castro got the start at shortstop, batting ninth against the White Sox. With two runners on in the second inning, he took Garrett Crochet deep for a three-run blast. He added another extra-base hit with a double in the fourth. The versatile 27-year-old is batting .188/.288/.333 with two homers and one steal across 80 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 7:28 pm

  • Curtis Mead powers Rays past Tigers on Wednesday
Curtis Mead clubbed a go-ahead two-run homer in the sixth inning on Wednesday, powering the Rays to a 7-5 victory over the Tigers.

Advice: After the Tigers rallied to take the lead in the top half of the sixth inning, the Rays tied it up on a two-out RBI single by Ben Rortvedt. Mead then followed by lining a 327-foot (87.3 mph EV) two-run homer off of Will Vest to put the Rays ahead for good. It snuck just over the cut out in left field and would only have been a home run in one of 30 MLB ballparks, fortunately for the Rays it’s the one they played in on Wednesday. The 23-year-old infielder finished the day 1-for-3 and is now hitting .231/.296/.277 with one homer and three RBI on the season. Rotoworld Today, 7:23 pm

  • Shut down for seven days
LeMahieu is still dealing with swelling in his right foot and will be shut down from baseball activity for a week, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

Advice: LeMahieu had to make an early exit from his first rehab game at Double-A Somerset on Tuesday after his fractured right foot began bothering him in the first inning. After getting checked out by team doctors Wednesday, he will officially be pulled off his rehab assignment and shut down from all activity for the next seven days. Next steps for the 35-year-old infielder will be determined once his seven days are up, though it seems his target return date will be pushed back well into May. Rotowire.com Today, 7:23 pm

  • Likely headed for IL
Gelof was diagnosed with a left oblique strain Wednesday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Gelof's injury was initially described as "left abdominal soreness" and caused him to be scratched from Oakland's lineup prior to Wednesday's game. However, his injury now appears to be more severe than initially thought, and it will likely cause him to land on the injured list. The A's haven't specified how long the 24-year-old may be out for, but Abraham Toro, who filled in for Gelof on Wednesday, will likely see consistent reps at second base in his absence.
